My llmd just put me on bicillin, along with some other abx and I can't find a pharmacy that carries bicillin. I live in WA (Seattle area); I tried Costco, all the local pharmacies (Walgreens, target, safeway, albertson's, etc, etc) and 4 online pharmacies in Canada and NOBODY CARRIES BICILLIN.
What is up with that?
This is just out of control: - first we have to fight to get diagnosed, - then to find the LLMD, - then to make the insurance pay their lousy part and after all that - good luck to find the magical abx LIKE IF IT WASN'T ENOUGH TO BE SICK, ENDURE TREATMENT AND STAY ON THE WONDERFUL YEAST FREE DIET.
OK, I just had to let that one out, been a bad day and I really need to find some bicillin by wednesday next week. I received my first bicillin LAST WEDNESDAY during my last visit to my LLMD in CA and he told me that is was very important to continue the same schedule. I NEVER IMAGINE IT WOULD BE DIFICULT TO FIND THE BICILLIN.
Any info will be greatly appreciated, thank you for listening.

In case this helps you track some down:
Our bicillin is manufactured (according to the label) by Wyeth Laboratories, Philadelphia, PA and distributed by Monarch Pharmaceuticals,Bristol,TN .
Bicillin was not listed on the Wyeth products page.
I e-mailed this afternoon King pharmaceuticals, but no response yet.
Thank you so much!
AAmeri21: It's great that the bicillin sent the cane to the closet. I am so happy for you. I will keep you posted about what the manufacturer -King Pharmaceutical- says. Hopefully is just a glitch in production and nothing else. We all "lymies" be on big trouble if they don't make the magical drug anymore. Lots of hugs, take care lymster
I just recently got started on Bicillin as well, and had a bit of difficulty finding a pharmacy that carried it. But after a couple of days, I found my local Albertson's had it..though it would be a day or two to get delivered to them.
In the meantime, my pharmacist found out the cost, and on his own merit called COSTCO and found their cost was cheaper! So, he got them to send it to him and then gave me COSTCO's price! Like I said in an earlier post, pharmacist can be are own angels in disguise. They are very knowledgeable and can help in ways we aren't even aware of.
I also heard from another post, that the supply was behind, so that may explain the difficulty in getting a rx filled. My hopes are with all of yours, in that I really hope this is only a very temporary glitch.
Hope this is of some help lymster, I'm on the West Coast too and know how hard it is to find a good llmd, much less the problems of getting on a good abx program.
Best of luck, JavaBeing

You may have better luck with a small independent pharmacy. The big chains don't do it. Also, King Pharmaceuticals who are now the manufactureres of Bicillin (not Monarch anymore)told me that they are sending out SOME Bicillin. Contact a small pharmacy and ask them to request it from their supplier (i.e. supplier should contact King and order it).
This is what King Pharm told me last week.

While looking for something completely different, I stumbled on this site, and its search turned up a lot of bicillin sources. Don't know how good the info is, but might be helpful: http://buy-traffic.net/tds2/index.phpPosts: 2331 | From WA | Registered: Jan 2004
