Doc just started me on nightly benztropine for muscle tremors and rigidity.
I was hoping others might have experience to share abt these symptoms and this treatment.
Thanks!

Look the drug up on medscape and see what it is used for and what the side effects, adverse reactions and drug interactions are. You may have to register for medscape. It is free and worth the effort. You can also bring up a lot on just a yahoo search....but beware of information floating around on the net. Keep in mind you need reliable sources. Then look up 'cytochrome P450 flockhart' on yahoo. It is a university of indiana site which maintains up to date information on drug interactions. You should find a chart for drug interactions, check the columns to see if you are on multiple drugs metabolized by any given enzyme...they appear as 1A2, D26 etc. Drugs often have a brand and generic name, if you don't find your drugs listed, make sure you check to see that you have the generic name for the drug. After that, you may want to discuss it with your physician or pharmacist. Information concerning drugs is readily available in the PDR or physician's desk reference, and most libraries or bookstores carry them. So if you can't find what you need on the net, go to a bookstore. If you are on a lot of meds, buy one, the nurses edition isn't badly priced. I hope that helps.

thanks 8crow...
I did research the drug, what I'd hoping to find out, is:

1. have other lymies used this drug?
2. did you find this drug helpful?
3. Did you have any problems with this drug?

so hopefully I'll get more input...

It's a powerful anticholinergic drug. Sorry I can't help you with any personal experience with benzotropine (Cogentin). Hope it helps.
