Hello Everyone,

It has been a long time since the last time I posted. This probably belongs over in general. I wanted to thank ya'll again for all of your thoughts, prayers, encouragement and understanding. Without you, I would not have made it this far.

I was so desperate to find a cure for Micheal when I came to this website. Looking for all the right meds to make him well and make him well quick. Well, this is what I have learned.

Nothing happens quickly with Lyme, listen to the seasoned ones on the board (they know what they are talking about) not matter how much you want to think differently. Bottom line is it takes time. Also, a person is not cured, only become Lyme-Free.

Micheal received treatment with Dr. C and for a year now has seen Dr. M. Dr. M believes that the treatment with Dr. C eradicated the lyme. He also believes that Dr. C. successfully treated the co-infections.

Micheal is now in a Post Lyme state as Dr. M states, Micheal has had several tests that we have paid for out of pocket and repeated over periods of time.

Micheal has been left with lyme damage, some neurological and some pain. Micheal's is continually being evaluated. However a big hurdle that Micheal and the Doc have been able to control is his pain. Micheal was in severe pain, could not walk due to his knees giving way. We had his knees X-rayed and they told us that he had the knees of an 18 year old.

Well now he is actually able to walk up the stairs, go outside and throw the ball with our son. He has more activity; he has gotten some of the life back that he lost 7 years ago.

The only med that Micheal has been on the last year a sleep med and Cymbalta. The right combo of antibiotics in large doses took care of the lyme and co-infections. You have to treat the lyme and then the co-infections.

The Dr does not believe Micheal will need to be on Cymbalta forever, but with it until he is out of "Post Lyme'', he recommends it to help with the pain. He is having success with it.

Is Micheal completely cured? No He is Lyme-Free and has most of his life back.

I wanted to thank all of you that have supported me and remember even though it hard to accept that it takes time for the medicine to work and in the right doses with the right Dr.

Peace my friends,

Cheryl

Peace,

I remeber when I first talked to you on the phone about your hubby and then Army wasn't helping you any....he was SO ill.

Gald to hear things are getting better.

Who is this Dr M?

I wouldn't be so sure that your hubby is clear of Lyme.

Re-read your post....and remember that Lyme Experts say...treat untilt he symptoms are gone...and then continue tratment for another 2 months past that time period.

I would encourage you to rethink your current position on his health...hey, maybe he IS clear of the Lyme.

I wouldn't mind speaking to you again...just to catch up.

E-mail me with your number if you like...I lost yours......or I'll give you mine.

Trout

PS...where did you guys move to?

Hello Bettyg and Trout, how are you? You are so very right regarding your post below.

It is very tricky, what I mean is even if the blood test show he is "lyme free", could he really be or is it damage from the lyme?

Micheal goes for another round of tests shortly. I believe he will be going on another round of treatment within 2 months.

Dr. M. believe the same was as Dr. C and treatment is mostly traditional. However, he pulled Micheal off the antibiotics to see how he would do and waited to see what happened knowing that they were taken chance and the pain coming back.

Between Dr. C and Dr. M. his life has become so much more manageable....we still will be very careful and watchful.

You were one of the seasoned ones I was speaking off....I emailed you my phone number ~~ call as soon as you can so I can give you the details.

Peace my friend, Cheryl
