I have just realised that one reason I have felt so unwell on Plaquenil and Erthyo is that they have been giving me horrendous yeast issues which maybe could have gone systemic.

Thinking that Plaquenil changes the PH I believe this probably favours the overgrowth of yeasts which is enough of a problem anyway with abx.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I will post a separate question about whether the Diflucan protocol is helping people more than abx.

Lil:

I think you can end up with a yeast infection while on any antibiotics. The symptoms mimic many Lyme symptoms.

I have had Systemic Candida and I can tell you that I felt horrible. I had to go off of abx to clear it up. It took a pretty strict diet, Diflucan, Nystatin Oral Suspension, lots of herbs and fiber cleanses.

You will need to heal the gut as well because the reason the yeast becomes systemic is that it is able to pass from the gut into the blood stream, which means you probably have leaky gut syndrome.

I used L-Glutamine and a psyllium + bentonite drink to help heal the gut and allow for the toxins to pas smoothly. psyllium tends to coat the gut and gently take the toxins out the back door with it.

I am having this trouble again so, I am taking another oral abx holiday and will be pulsing my Bicillin whenever the co. can make a drop shipment of the Rx.

No sugar, lots of water. Take care.

Bc

Thanks for your helpful suggestions. I will probably try a protocol using Diflucan daily and see if that helps longterm but will also work on helping the leaky gut.
