I'm confused about something. I supposedly have neuro-lyme because I have problems walking and talking. But I have never had the first bit of brain fog or confusion, my mind is as sharp as ever. My lyme must all be in my joints. Any thoughts on this?

Did you ever have Bells Palsy? That is one symptom that would classify you as neurological lyme.

I was confused about this too. Neuro-lyme can mean that your central nervous system is impacted, therefore affecting your motor skills (including walking and talking). Cognitive problems, like brain fog and confusion, are just different neurological symptoms.

You can have one without the other. I have nerve pain and myoclonus, both neurological, but no cognitive symptoms.

My LLMD told me the Lyme is "deeply imbedded in my nervous system," but I have no cognitive dysfunction. My symptoms are mostly neurological such as inability to walk without help.

I do have other symptoms such as joint pain.

I never had bells palsey, but one side of my face droops a little and my upper lip is numb.

Is your walking difficulty due to stiffness, or poor balance or both. I cannot walk without help either. What are you taking, and are you getting any better?

Good question.

I am very stiff and in pain most of the time. I also can't maintain my balance.

The first symptom I had that would NOT go away was weakness in my right leg. I could not lift it.

Now I can lift it but I have a host of other problems.

I'm on 800mg Ketek and 800mg Cedax daily. Just started the Ketek at the beginning of March and added the Cedax at the beginning of April.

Herxing rather badly. Have had to use a walker since I started this regimen.

Lymie7yrs,

"I never had bells palsey, but one side of my face droops a little and my upper lip is numb."

That is Bell's Palsy, mild. Mine cleared after heavy treatment, mainly directed at dental infections and heavy metal toxicity. It took, it seemed like, forever. Several years to get the thioethers and mercaptans
(from root canals and crowned bad teeth) out of my brain and cranial nerves. Many neurosymptoms are caused by this condition, not only bacterial and viral infections. Parasites are also in the picture when it comes to neuro problems as is mold and fungi, etc.

Antibiotics did not even touch my facial paralysis. It took treating everything else mentioned above before I started to look normal again.

Take care.
