During the extensive testing tht I believe any LLMD will do in making a diagnosis, my daughter has been found to have (among other things) antibodies to legionella and trichinella. Has anyone else been so diagnosed? We are simply assuming that thorough testing will show up a great array of things that modern humans may have been exposed to but not sickened by.

Any ideas on this?

I think you are correct. Antibodies stick around for a long time. If that were not true, vaccination would be pointless, right? How long? .... may be different for different bugs.

I believe this is the reason for boosters and the need to repeat certain vaccinations.

The question would be which antibodies correspond to active disease and which are from previous exposure but no current disease. This is, of course, one of the problems we are having with lyme diagnosis. People who say that positives on antibody tests are false because they come from cross reactions or past disease. They even say this when the person tested has the appropriate symptoms! Well, digressing here.

I'm impressed with the array of tests done. And, no, I doubt many LLMD test for Legionaire's or Trichinosis.

Old vs active infection-Doesn't the IgM, IgG part of the Western Blot yield useful info on that? IgM indicates active, ongoing infection, right?
