You mentioned in a posting about anxiety that you did not reccomend SSRI's.

My doc wants to put me on SSRI's. I've been on a coupe in the past had some side effects snd resisted doing it again.

I was wondering what your thinking is about them.

Thanks,

Amanda

Hi,

My daughter was put on Lexapro, a SSRI for her anxiety which caused her to cllench her teeth. She is addicted to it and cannot come off. The SSRI's are highly addictive but the drug company refers to it as discontinuation syndrome.

Paxil, Effexor, Proxac, Zoloft, Lexapro..........they are POISON!!!!

You will not be able to stop taking them and it will truly be a NIGHTMARE!!!!

SSRI's also lower ones immune system making lyme worse. The SSRI's also interfere with your aboility to take macrolide antibiotics.

The Macrolides are metabolized thru the P 450 Chtochrome system snd use the same pathways as the SSRI's which can cause toxic levels of the SSRI's

DO NOT START ANY SSRI/ I wish I had been warned.

I wish the search function was working. YOu could call up alot of recent discussion on this. I've never taken an SSRI and I'm glad I was never given one.

There are plenty of older meds which are effective, and in my opinion, much safer. They do have side effects, but once your body is used to them, it's not a problem.

There is amitriptyline, imipramine, nortriptyline, elavil, and trazodone for starters. Those are the ones that come to mind.

Someone posted that the SSRI's do not mix with Lyme specifically. Maybe "aunty" has that info.

IF you have to be on one, I think Prozac is maybe the least damaging.....I don't know.

Hi again,

One dose of Prozac raises Coristol levels by 100%..............this is a stress hormone. This is stated in Dr. Anne Blake Tracy's Book and tape. The tape is titled "Help, I can't get off my antidepressant".

SSRI's are very damaging to the body and can cause heart damage and diabetes. You can purchase many books online telling about the serious dangers of the SSRI's.

They are POISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
