I would suggest you guys add in a second med..if you are on a bacteriostatic then have your llmd add in a bacteriocidal , so not only are you killing the critters straight out, but when they multiply too...and vice versa...

each of you are killing just one kind right now...many llmds use two or more different kinds of meds to make sure they kill the different kinds of keets, or to get he keets in their different forms so they don't have time to 'remultiply', thus giving you a good day, then a really bad day...

sometimes it helps..just a thought...

also sometimes adding in plaqeunil to a macrolide like biaxin can actually change the ph of the blood so the abx can get into the cells to kill the bacteria IN the cell as well. the benefit of plaq. is it's actully been found to work with some antimalaarial properties as well..so if you have babs it may help with that too.

just some extra suggestions to pass onto your llmd. you'll notice many on here are on two or more abx at the same time...and thats usually a "static" and 'cidal ' med..just for this reason..

I am feeling MUCH better. When I started treatment about 27 months ago, I could barely raise my arms, turn a door handle, or walk uphill. I had night sweats, disorientation, vertigo..... You name it, I had 36 of the thirty eight symptoms on the checklist, or something like that. Is that a 2 or a 3? Whatever. These days, I am literally building a house and it looks like I will be able to move in in several more weeks. I'm lifttng weights, working all week then putting in about 24 hours of physical labor every weekend. The only meds I have taken are Biaxin and Bicillin LA and There have been, basically, no side effects.
It would seem to me you need to review what you are doing.

48 years of lyme + coinfections
18 months of treatment on a lot of different combos
Until month 3 of treatment I was a 2
Now most of the times I'm a 5-6
But sometimes like today I'm a 7-8 !!! What a feeling! Nearly like a human being.

I agree that combo treatment helps a lot. Have you been checked for coinfections?

Take care,

Gabrielle

I will be in treatment 4 years this summer. I have been treated for babesia and bartonella along the way and now being treated for the Lyme. I am on the combo cipro and doryx and it's been doing it's job for close to 6 months now.

At my worst I was in bed most of the day. I lost my ability to read with any kind of comprehension and suffered from great mental confusion. I had a lot of muscle weakness. I needed to ride in a wheelchair for DisneyWorld and day trips into NYC.

I have seen some great strides in the last year. I am up and living life more like a normal person. I did not require a wheelchair for my latest trip into the City. I still get tired and have days where I need to lay low, but typically I don't need to nap as frequently. I am trying to exercise a bit more to get some of this extra weight off. On the down side, I have more pain in my muscles - from all that time being inactive.

I am definitely moving in the right direction, which gives me so much hope. I know I still have a ways to go. I'm probably living in the '6-7' range of feeling good.....

Sounds like you are heading in a positive direction. It took me nearly 18 month before I started having more good days than bad. I may never be a 10 again and sometimes I wonder if I ever was but let's say after over a year without treatment I am a 9. There are 9's and 10's waiting for you. Be patient. I got better and so will you!
