Can anyone give me feedback, pros or cons on Dr. J in Pennsylvania, who also travels to Las Vegas quarterly to see patients?

Thanks in advance....(and you can e-mail me privately, if you want...)

I can't contact you privately, your e-mail is not listed.

I have been seeing Dr. J in Vegas since October 04. I contracted lyme in July 04. I went to Dr. J after interviewing two other LLMD's in both Boston and NC. Dr. j has seen over 6000 lyme patients and has been the field for many years. My health has been very up and down. I finally convinced Dr. J to have me diagnosed for co-iinfections, and i have Babesia. Started Mepron in January.

Dr. J has 20 years experience with lyme, and came recommended (check with his administrator, Rene, at [email protected]). She is the person to contact for a recommendation.

Right now I am not sure of the results of my treatment under Dr. J, as I am still sick (much harder to cure when you have babs and lyme). In my phone conversation with Dr. J today he said that maybe I should get a second opinion. This surprised me. At least he is being honest that babs is hard to treat, but he thinks that the course i am on is a good one. on the other hand, perhaps there is a more experienced doc with babs.

That said, if you just have lyme dr. j is probably a good choice. Insist on coinfection testing if you haven't already done so. I decided to see him because i could drive to vegas, and he is the closest LLMD to me.

I am planning on getting a second opinion from another Dr. J in NC. Can't get an appointment until July, and only with a nurse practioner.

I don't know if I helped you. As I said, the jury is still out for me. contact Rene for more info.

Thanks for replying. I appreciate your insights.

I did change it so people can e-mail me! Thanks for letting me know that wasn't available.

Another thing you could do is contact the Pittsburg support group and inquire. I'm sure some of those people use this doc.
