How long does it take for the abx to get out of the body?
my liver enzymes for the first time are also 250 and 150.
Is the liver responsible for getting the abx out of the body? How do I get it out of me quicker?
doc gave me steroids and benadryl in the meantime.
Thanks,
Eyal

Steroids ? Normally, that's a big no no when treating a lyme patient. Steroids shut down the immune system, just the opposite of what lymies need !
Milk thistle helps liver function. You can pick it up at any health food store. Normally, it comes in 150mg per tablet, and I believe they recommend 3 per-day. Secondly, abx can hang around in your system for a while, especially zithromax. 5 days if I remember correctly.

Think it might depend on the drug and on your system. Doxy was still causing me sun problems up to 10 days after quitting. Another drug caused a major rash which took about a week to go away after stopping the drug. Think this might have been a case of serum sickness, rather than allergy. I had been checked by allergist beforehand. Think the steroids and benedryl your doc prescribed are meant to mitigate what may be an allergic reaction. Assume this is a short term action.
Am not a proponent of many herbal treatments, but I take milk thistle and think it was responsible for knocking down liver enzymes which had gotten too high at one point. The German research on this better than U.S.
If you are scientific oriented, you could look at the PDR and see what the half life is for the drug(s) you were using when this happened. They have long descriptions which talk about serum concentrations over periods of time and which organs metabolize etc. Your local library may have a copy of this book. If you don't mind going out in public all spotted!
