I have read different posts refering to a lyme bruise. Can anyone clarify what this is for me.

Hi Lararus
the lyme bruise is a circular bruse that
starts at the tick bite and radiates
out ward -like a bulls eye on a target.
It can get very big--mine was about
6 inches across when I saw it
on the back of my leg--it usually
dose not hurt. It can be purple
-red- blue in color. In the center
the skin color can look normal-
giving it the bulls eye look.
Many people say they have had several
bulls eyes at once- I think they got
mutipule bites. Many people do not
get the bulls eye bruse or did
not see it. There are pictures
on this site--
Also many people tell of a rash--with
small bumps like prickely heat-
can be all over body,
I think this rash shows up after
you have had lymes for a while-
that is how it has been for me.
Lymetoo has a list of info you
should read- she posts it all the time.
Lyme is a very serious disease--
will ruin your life. Do more
reasurch -Ilads.org- is also a good
site. If you even think you have
lymes-get help- and get on some
meds. Time is not on your side
if you have lymes.
I think I emailed you a couple of
days ago--Did you get it.--Jay--

The bulls eye rash can appear as a bruise rather than a raised rash. Both of my known bites (ones where I removed the tick myself) had bruise-like bulls eyes. Dr. S in San Francisco said that he's seen them before.

On other occasions, where I didnt remove the ticks myself (they fell off of their own accord), I had a red raised rash that looked like a logo for Target stores...

It's just one of the manifestations of the bulls eye.
