I am on IV rocephin, Clindamycin[sp] & flagy and my liver enzymes went up to over 200. It was a little elevated the week before I started the flagyl but when I added clind. and flagyl it soared. I am currebtly off all abx till next week when they get more blood

I couldn't afford to have too many ..'tests', but I ultimately came out all right! The combination of doxy and cefuroxime axefil seemed tobe hardest on liver, judging from pain in the liver area, but I don't know for sure; the pain could have been part of a herxheimer-like reaction.
'biazin' didn't seem as rude for liver - took it which amoxicillin (1g/6g/ day) for a long time. But, as I said, I don't know for sure.

Thanks for posting this topic. I want to learn all I can about liver health.

It was interesting to me that when I started getting sicker with misdiagnosed lyme, the whites of my eyes turned a little yellow. I was tested for hepatitis and was neg. I was wondering whether untreated lyme and co-infections could be hard on the liver?

Thanks!
