I don't know what this is, and never saw this mentioned before.
However, if I had this I would try one sting with a honey bee. BUT thats because I know I'm not allergic to bee stings, and I would NOT do this with ANY meds, OTC, or prescription;certain or dietary supplements.
If keets are in there the the mellitin should burst them. In vitro tests showed this.
If you consider a honey bee sting, first go to http://www.apitherapy.org, and other sites for caveats, preparation, etc.

Amy, are you seeing an LLMD ? Lyme can cause some very odd and unusual skin manifestations, which don't necessarily have to be a bullseye in nature.

If your taking milk thistle, this might be a involved in the lump formation.
FWIW,several times I had small "lumps" under the skin of the front of my thighs, with three of them on the left side and two ont the right. They "made their prescence known," in that they made me conscious of their prescence with a slight burn, and tingling to them. I was impelled to rub, and scratch them. At the time, I correlated this with the concurrent intake of milk thislte, and the abx I was taking at the time. Intake of the two were staggered by at least two hours.
Months after stopping both, a pharmacist expert on herbas as well mention something about the interaction of milk thistle and certain medicines or the interaction of the effects of these. He made no specific mention of particular drugs in connection with milk thistle, but did mention one connection with the liver; and something to the effect that the milk thistle prevented certain medicines form entering the cell(?). This was too long ago for me to give a verbatim account; thats the best I can say at the moment.
On another note. My experience with honey bee venom:
For 2-3 years, I had pimple-like bumps in my scalp that related to lyme, most gone with abx. On average, the size was 1/4 in. They appeared shortly after starting ceftin, and, all but 3 of these things went away, piecmeal over months, after immediately starting amoxicillin. Left were one big one and two small ones. No amount of "finger-nail digging expeditions" would make them go away. Two of the last 3 bumps diminished very slowly over 2 yr., and the 3rd 'recalcitrant' bump lasted for one year after these two.
I got rid of the last one with one bee sting; it diminished over 2-4 days and completely gone after approx. day 7. on top of my scalp where the occipital, and temperoparietal skull suture lines come meet, I believe.
I couldn't get it on the first 3 tries over 4 days, having twice stung myself in the fingers cause I had to go by feel, and not sight.
If you consider this route, first get advice form a doctor with intimate knowledge of the use of bee venom, as there are medical conditions, and a very long list of medicines, prescriptive, and otc that you can not have in your system, including magnesium.

I am newly diagnosed with Lymes but i had one of those about 15 years ago. It ended up being a cyst it was no big deal they cut it out and stiched in minutes. Not sure if this is what you have but maybe.

Hi Amyb I had a bump on wrist-Hert like hell. I think it was on a nerve-I tried to pop it with needle- several times- nothing came out- it was hard. I had it for about 5 months. 2 Easters ago I was at church- there was this old man that was tring to use a walker with wheels to walk- the walker was broken- I thought the man was going to fall down- so I rushed over and fixed his walker-as I was fixing it- a metal bar swung down and wacked me right on this bump-It Really hurt-almost said non chirch words- any ways -the bump poped and goo come out. Bump went away. I think it was some kind of cyst. --Jay--

I'm curious to find out what made the swelling of the lump go down, and/or contributed to it;it must be something in the diet, or a med., prescriptive, otc, diet. supp., herb, or some combination thereof. The reason I ask has to do with the idea of catabolic and anabolic processes of the body. Lately, I've been studying the idea of catabolic and anabolic metabolism, and substances that induce/augment, or have the opposite effect of a given metabolic process, as they affect people and bug alike.
catabolic =>breakdown(e.g. reduced swelling of lump) and anabolic=>constructive, or 'buildup'. the bump = buildup = anabolic; the reduced swelling = breakdown=catabolic.
I'm 'assuming' the reduced swelling of bump did not co-incide with the catabolic phase of cycling, and, instead the reduced swelling was due to diet, inclu. diet supp(s).,herb(s) etc., or to medicine(s), if not some combination thereof, that induced a catabolic process, and thusly reduced swelling of the bump.
Any sulfur compounds taken? e.g., MSM,NAC, cysteine, taurine, vit. B1(thiamine),lipoic acid. Any new mineral supps. instituted like boron, magnesium
vitamin D, as in D2, D3?
With me, the cyst-like 'pimple'on the scalpI considered--hypothetically--to be an anabolic process. When I stung it with the honey bee, and it diminished, finally disappearing, I concluded that the mellitin, a positively electrically charged protein, induced a catabolic process within the cyst-like pimple; other components of the venom might nullify this interpretation, and to whatever extent they would have, the mellitin(active against Bb) content of teh venom, on average-range, 40-50%, had the dominant influence. Therefore, I pegged the reduced swelling of my cyst-like pimple to this constituent of the venom.
thanx for your reply, if you have the time; if not, o.k.
Formerly lumpy and bumpy pq, and hope I don't get any more of these things
