Just wondering if anyone has had any positive results with IV Zithro? I've only been on it for 1 week now. Any cautions with this? (gallbladder etc.?)

The first time I used it, I had a memorable herx in week 3. So, if it is effective for whichever strains you have, might be prepared for this.

Are you taking it with anything else?

My son did 10 weeks of IV rocephin, with little improvement, then our doc changed the IV to zithromax. 250mg per-day for two weeks, then 500mg since. He also combined it with mepron.

He improved more on 3 weeks of zith than 2 1/2 months of rocephin. Zith is very strong and he did herx for about two weeks, but overall tolerated it very well. He gets his PICC pulled next week after 2 months of IV zith. It certainly did the trick for him.

Hi!
I am on my second month of Zith and seem to be improving.I have done a lot of rocephin and it did improve me but I kept slipping back.My energy levels are up and my body pain is down.I also had a major herx at week 4 which is a good sign although a bit depressing when you are starting to think you are getting better.

Took oral zith before that and didn't get the result.I am only having 3 IV's a week and then take the oral zith the other days with plaquenil and flagyl on infusion days.

Also taking samento, artemisium and Pao d arco and all the other sups suggested by Dr B.

Definitely worth a try!

Take care,Sue.
