I have been prescribed 3 grams of rocephrine daily via IV... some people hae told me this is an excessive dosage... does any one have information on this?

If you can take it, great, just be careful of gallstones. I've been on 2 gm for 5 1/2 mos and it caused gallstones, but I'm still going. She wants to up me to 3 gm because my symptoms are so bad (brain wise) and she feels the months I've been on are kicking in. Some people my doc goes to are getting 3 gr. and are ok with it. Try and see.

You could survive 4 g per day. So 3 g is OK.
