I told my LLMD that my holistic dr put me on glutathione. He says he doesn't see any evidence that it is helpful and thinks in some cases it could "help the bacteria more than me and could therefore interfere with treatment". What??? Does that make any sense?

Hi Nancy

That might just be his opinion, it doesn't mean he is right. I am positive that in general low glutathione plays a part.

For me I have been taking 2 good amounts of whey protein daily for about 2 months and it has really helped me. In addition I take Perfect Food x 2 for one month and I believe this is also helping. My immune system seems stronger than for a long time.

I believe that there is some thought that glutathione may not help because the liver is not set up to absorb and make use of it, that the precursors, such as those provided in products like ImmunoPro RX are much better because the liver will use those to produce glutathione.

Rich Vankyomen (sp?) has written extensively on this. I don't know if he posts here, but he has posted at the infectionandinflammation2 yahoo site (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/infectionandinflammation2/)

Trevor Marshall had Yahoo shut down the original I&I list a few months ago, so anything which Rich posted on the original list is no longer in the current archives. If you can't find his writings there, they were able to reconstruct the old archives to have them posted on another board hosted in the UK, but I'm afraid that I no longer have the URL. You could post at the current I&I2 list and I'm sure that someone would have it for you.
