I have not posted in a very long time. I have been too ill and have been in bed for the most part since January.

Several proceedures, 4 doctors and liver biopsy later, I have been diagnosed with NASH (non-alcoholic steato-hepatits). Depending on how long it takes to clear up or in some cases it never does--I cannot continue on my abx treatment.

Was on IV's for approx 1 year and by mouth Ketek and Levequin more off than on since January--off due to liver values and I am not near well or much better than I was when I started

I am still hoping I will become one of the sucess stories adventually--also 1 1/2 yrs later turned down with two appeals for ssdi--now in north carolina the wait for a court date-1 1/2 years more--I have no idea how we will survive monitarily.

if you are having liver problems let me know or any comments welcome

cathy

I am very sorry to hear about how hard times are for you! Not getting out of bed much since january is horrific! Liver and lyme. that is a full plate.

I have been having liver problems and have been posting about this lots lately.

What are/were your symptoms, can you share them with me?

I am having URQ pain that does not seem to be related to gallbladder and mildly elevated LFT's. (AST and ALT only) Severe dizziness and fevers and sweats. Most have subsided since stopping mepron/zith....but I keep getting rounds of them even after 13 days off meds!?

Wishing you the best possible right now,
Trails

I'm so sorry to hear this, Cathy. This has been a nightmare couple of years for you.

How is the NASH being treated?

Can your liver withstand naturopathic remedies for LD in the mean-time? Things like garlic, oregano oil, etc? Many of the other herbal remedies, like Samento and Artemesinin, are reported to be hard on the liver, but there may be some treatments you can take for the time being to at least not lose so much ground?

Good luck, keep us posted.
