THIS BATTLE WITH LYME
SURE DOES TAKE SOME TIME

I KNOW I'M NOT IN THIS ALONE
THERE ARE SO MANY OF US WASTING AWAY AT HOME

THERE ARE DAYS WHEN WE CAN'T GET OUT OF BED
AND MOST DOCS WILL SAY, IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD

IT'S TO THE POINT NOW, I CAN'T EVEN WALK
WORSE THAN THAT, I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU ABOUT IT, BECAUSE I CAN'T TALK

THERE ARE SO MANY OF US SHARING DIFFERENT KINDS OF PAIN
THE LACK OF AWARENESS OF THIS DISEASE DRIVES ME INSANE

THERE ARE TOO FEW DOCS ON THE FRONT LINE
HELL, IF THE INSURANCE COMPANIES HAD THEIR WAY, THEY'D BE DOIN' TIME

IF I DIDN'T RESEARCH LYME ON MY OWN
MY WIFE WOULD BE LIVING BY HERSELF IN OUR HOME

I WOULD HAVE DIED OF LYME DISEASE IN 2004
THANK GOD A LLMD LET ME IN THE DOOR

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL DIE FROM THIS DISEASE IN 2005
IF WE ALL GET TOGETHER, MAYBE WE CAN KEEP SOME ALIVE

THEY ALWAYS SAY THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE
MAYBE WE NEED TO BE THE LYME POLICE

KEEP THE PHONE RINGING UNTIL THEY HEAR OUR PLEAS
AND LET THEM KNOW THIS IS A REAL DISEASE

THEY SAY 50% OF NEW CASES ARE LITTLE KIDS
IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU FLIP YOUR LIDS

I WOULD ONLY WISH THIS DISEASE ON ONE DR. STEERE
WHAT A WASTE OF A MEDICAL CAREER

AND TO ALL YOU DOCS THAT DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS DISEASE
PICK UP SOME BOOKS, AND READ ABOUT IT PLEASE

AND TO EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE IN LYME
STAY OUT OF YOUR BACKYARD ~ IF YOU GET BIT, YOU'LL BE DOIN' TIME

~Lyme victim, Maryland 2005 ~

This is very inspirational.. but not sure that is the word I am looking for right now? I read it the day it was posted.. but was still not sure how to describe how it made me feel.

Then storms came all last night and I couldn't respond.

The words are moving, true, and it upsets me that folks are STILL going through this after THIRTY years of Lyme being recognised.

I sit here and wish I could erase the pain this disease.. or the ducks.. cause people.

Thank you for putting into words what NEEDS to be said.

And thanks for doing it so well.

I am making a copy to hang here in my room.

Wow! I know this took not only talent but effort. Thank you so much for writing it and for posting it here.
I am sending it to the 150 people on my "Ld-e-list."

Sending all my best thoughts and wishes,
Ann - OH

Lymetoo - did you check my spelling on this one too? You're just like my wife, she edits as she reads!

Actually I didn't!! I just wanted you to make it perfect if it was going to Bill O'Reilly and national TV!

I like this one too....especially the line about "Dr" Steere!

I am also from MD

My husband just tested positive for Lyme (contacted it from me) and we are worried every day that our toddler will start to show signs of it.

This was really good!
