TAKE THE SPIN OUT OF LYME...

I'M GOING TO WRITE ANOTHER POEM I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME, I'M CONFINED TO MY HOME

IM 40 YEARS OLD AT THE PRIME OF MY LIFE
BUT I CANT GET DRESSED WITHOUT THE HELP OF MY WIFE

I WAS HOPING SOMEONE COULD TAKE THE SPIN OUT OF THIS DISEASE
SO MANY SUFFER AND NO ONE HEARS OUR PLEAS

IT'S A DISEASE THEY SAY DOESN'T EXIST
STILL THE SYMPTOMS CONTINUE TO PERSIST

YOU CAN CATCH IT AT HOME, OR IN YOUR BACK YARD
IF YOU GET IT ~ GETTING DX AND TX IS VERY HARD

WHEN YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS AND GO TO THE DOC
IT WONT BE THE FIRST VISIT ~ IT WILL NEVER STOP

THEY WILL TAKE YOUR BLOOD AND RUN SOME TEST
PROBABLY JUST TELL YOU, YOU NEED SOME REST

THIS DISEASE IS PASSING AIDS IN AMERICAS RACE
BUT THE WAY THEY TEST, ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO TRACE

THIS DISEASE CAN KILL YOU AND YOU'LL NEVER HAVE A POSITIVE TEST
TRUST ME I'VE SEEN IT TAKE DOWN THE BEST

THIS DISEASE IS ATTACKING OUR KIDS, AT AN ALARMING RATE
AND IT'S HAPPENING IN EVERY SINGLE STATE

CHRONIC FATIGUE, FIBR0MYALGIA, MS & ALS
THIS DISEASE IS SO GOOD, IT CAN MIMIC ALL OF THE BEST

HELP SPREAD THE WORD IT'S ABOUT TIME
LET AMERICA KNOW PEOPLE ARE REALLY DYING FROM LYME

YOU WILL PROBABLY GET A LOT OF FAST TALK AND SPIN
BUT IF THE PUBLIC FINALLY KNOWS THE TRUTH
SOME OF THE VICTIMS HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN

~A LYME VICTIM~

Awesome! Would be nice if he'd include it in his emails, at least!

Now, the teacher in me has to say this....you may have to explain the DX and TX in a postscript for him.

And this line, "THEY WILL TAKE YOUR BLOOD AND RUN SOME TEST
PROBABLY JUST TELL YOU, YOU NEED SOME REST"

The word test should read "tests"

Other than that, you passed the test with flying colors!

Great poem, ALSLYME....you done great!

I hope it gets recognition....just a thought, but maybe even send it to all the news papers /sites that do articles on Lyme also.

(Lymetoo....but 'TestS' doesn't rhyme with 'Rest' ...and it is true that the ducks may only do just ONE test

What a great poem. It certainly sums up my story of Lyme and what it can do to you. I have had my share of ducks, friends and family who just do not understand. It is such a "lonely disease".

Cannot wait until your next poem!!

I guess you could say, you've got a captive audience.

Very heartfelt. Thanks. Ilene
