I went to a chiropractor that took xrays and said I had degenerative
disk and spurs. He also dx the pinched nerve called it radiopathiy?

My fingers stayed numb and if I use my arm over head it has been weak.
This was things I could live with so I quit going to chiro after the
pain got better.

For the past several months I have had neck pain that is burning and
my arms and neck feel like they are spastic. My MD had a cervical
MRI done and it said
cervical spondylosis with JOINTS OF LUSCHKA hypertrophy at C5-6 and
C6-7. Encroachment on the neural foramina more severe on the right
than left. He said this was narrowing.

The left is where I had the pinched nerve but right is worse.
My MD wants me to see a neuro surgeon for a evaluation.

I am having times that if I hold my arms in certain fixed positions
they make my shoulders start drawing up. The shoulder blades will
stick out and my clavical area draws up. I look like the hunchback
of Notre Dame. This drawing just takes control of these muscles.
I can make it stop if I move my arms but if they stay in that spot
they just keep drawing up.
I have numbness in my left hand more sometimes than others.
The pain is worse at times then ok at other times.

It is the drawing of my shoulders that I don't understand then
sometimes my arms will be in a certain different position and they
will get to trembling and then they will do this big flapping but if
I move them out of the position they will quit.
Since I can make both things stop by moving my arms in a different
spot I don't know if I am making myself do this. That sounds crazy
but I don't think I am because my neck has wanted to feel that
trembling feeling.
I had a couple of episodes with my back muscles shaking like they
were cold only they were not but shivered all up and down.

If someone could just help me to understand what this could be called
I would appreciate it so much.
I see words like fasculations, mytonia, contractions, and myopathy.

I live in a small town and I have been trying to find out more about
the Drs in Nashville or Knoxville,

Just please help me to understand these movements.

You need to see a LLMD ASAP, preferably a neuro.

This has gotten worse since then. Mostly I just want to understand what it is.

Some words for you to look into too:

-TOS, Thoracic outlet syndrome (was diagnosed with THAT one for a long time this winter before I realized that the lyme had relapsed)

-Brachialgia

-Brachial plexopathy

-radiopathy

The nerves in the neck and brachial plexus (upper chest area) go thru the thoracic outlet (like the carpel tunnel, but it is in the shoulder, not the wrist) and are distributed throughout that arm. It is a HUGE bundle of nerves, so if you have a problem way up there then you can have major problems throughout the arm AND the scapula.

You may have more than one thing going on, but for me the lyme was the root of it all.

Did you have a cortizone shot by any chance?

Also, did you have an EMG? What were the results? Mine showed nerve root damage on the right side of lower cervical spine. The physiatrist (like a glorified PT) (jerk) refused to believe that Lyme can cause actual nerve root damage. Well, welcome to MY planet, lady!

My LLMD sent her a letter, so hopefully she is fuming up in Albuquerque.

You also might want to research myoclonus.

Lyme also tends to attack places on
body that have been injured before--
I had stiff neck for 18 years non stop-
I had been in a car wreck 8 months before
I was bitten by tick--
-I thought neck pain was do to
wiplash even tho I was fine for 7 months
after wreck--

Lyme is a crazy disease--
can and will cause all kinds of stuff
to happen-- this is one of the Big
problems getting correct Dx for it.
Docs think your crazy--
No one could
have this many things wrong with them--
If I had not Lived through it-- I would
have found it hard to believe too--

My list of symptoms was a full page--
On the page of symptoms was a complete
clenical Dx for lyme except for the
Lyme bullseye bruse that I had seen
on my leg 2 months before and did
not connect with illness.
I sure wish docs had paid more attention
to my list--

Do more research-- keep notes--
read the newbe pages- print out-
lots of good info--Hopefully you
dont have lyme-- Do a few
hours of reading and see --
