I started IV rocephin treatment in August of 2004 and was on IV until November 29th of 2004 then took zithromax, flagyl plaqunuil and mepron and I was off of antibiotics a month and retested through Igenex labs
my first test were taken on 7/13/04 and the where:
LYME IGG western blot negative
31 kDa +/-
34 kDa +/-
39 kDa +/-
41 kDa ++
45 kDa +/-
58 kDa +/-
66 kDa +/-
with all other bands have - by them

MY LYme IGM western blot Postive

18 kDa +/-
23-25 kDa +
31 kDa +/-
34 kDa +/-
39 kDa +
41 kDa ++
58 kDa +/-
66 kDa +/-
with all the rest of the bands being -

My second test was taken on 5?31/05 and the results are

Lyme IGG western blot negative

All bands are - except
44 kDa ++
and
39 kDa IND which means indeterminate
66 kDa IND Indeterminate

Lyme IgM western blot Negative
all bands are - except
23-25 kDa, 28, 30, 39, 41, 45, 58 is IND
66 kDa +

So what is everyones take on my test results now? I think it looks like I am pretty clear but I don't know a lot about the bands. Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Stacie

Hi Speed Drive!! Looks like you're getting better, but still have it. At least that's my take on it. You still have Lyme specific bands. And the IND means they still "SAW" something...enough to say it's IND. [or equivocal]

Read Dr C's WB explanation....and then go read Tincup's new WB explanation. [especially about the specific bands and the "equivocal" explanation.

Western Blot explanation: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/022767.html

Hey spd..

Good to see you!!! Long time, no see!

These test results indicate that the person who has them is entitled to a chocolate milkshake.

Oh yes.. it does. See.. there is no Band 472 showing.. and on MY list.. that indicates a chocolate milkshake is in order.

Looks to me like you are kicking keet butt big time! Good for you!

Keep up the good work!

Question.. and this is just an observation... and something that I noted while looking closely at the bands..

Were you ever tested/treated for Ehrlichiosis or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.. or even Bartonella?

I don't see doxy on your list.. but I do see Band number 45.. which makes me curious.

NOT that you need doxy.. or it makes ANY difference... I am just curious.

Big question now.. is how are you feeling?

tincup,
I tried doxy but couldn't tolerate it made me EXTREMLY sick stomach wise. I took Mepron for the Ehrlichiosis I think. But I wasn't tested because of the cost and the fact my insurance wouldn't cover it.
Feeling wise my biggest problem right now is I am dropping weight so fast I went from January 27th being 137 pounds to yesterday being 113. I am real pale and I manage to do work and such but come home and crash.
They also diagnosed me with lupus and I will be going to LSU medical center in Shreveport soon I hope to see an immunolgist there.
I see my lyme doctor on the 29th of this month and see what he thinks about my results. I wonder about that one band still being double positive also but everything else looks pretty decent. Still dealing with chronic pain from being eat up with arthritis all over to. Other than that I am doing ok I guess. Doesn't sound to good but I am doing LOTS better in ways than I was when I started treatment I can at least get out of bed and function now where I couldn't do that when I first was diagnosed.

SPDDRV,

I believe Tincup has a point about the Doxy. Were you positive for Ehrlichiosis? Mepron is to treat babesia.

?LUPUS? or is it still Lyme. Just concerned about that diagnosis and if it came from your LLMD. I hope you get to your LLMD first. Maybe Doryx instead of Doxy?, somewhat easier on the stomach.

I didn't test for any co-infections because of the cost my doctor just went by symptoms.
My LLMD is the one that is leaning towards Lupus and has left me on plaqunil for it.
I will see my LLMD on the 29th and will take a while before I can go to LSU. I just want to find out why I am losing so much weight and hurting so bad.
I also have an aunt on my biological fathers side who had lupus and then a great grandmother who had it also. So lupus runs in my family.

Back at ya spd...

I normally don't question a LLMD's thoughts.. but something here doesn't "feel right" to me.

I have LOTS of thoughts running through my brain right now concerning this post.. but I am too tired at this late hour to spell it all out.

But before you jump on the Lupus train.. can we take a closer look at what is going on?

Just some brief notes..

I see Band 45 which COULD indicate Ehrlichiosis. I don't see treatment that would have addressed that.

I see NO treatment listed for yeast control.

You still are sick.

You are losing weight- look pale, and lack stamina, and hurt. Babesiosis??? Ehrlichiosis?

Your chronic pain and arthritis should be better IF you are under control now.

You shouldn't be pale.

You are tired and lack stamina and shouldn't.

I am sorry to "bug" you.. but do you have any more input? If not.. that is ok. I am just not comfortable with what I see.. and I ASSUME you want an honest opinion.

I do want to see you MUCH better.

Thinking about you!
