When I went to pick up the RX yesterday they said that they had switched the Biaxin to generic. I know that the Plaquenil generic does not work as good and that it has to be Plaquenil but what about the Biaxin? Does anyone know?

Generic Biaxin just came on the market. The Biaxin patent expired on May 23rd.

I'm wondering about the generic too. I was thinking of getting a 10 day supply to give it a try.

I'll be curious to hear if you notice a difference.

The price difference for out of pocket payers like me is significant although the generic is still expensive approx $300/100 tabs vs. $500 for Biaxin.

Yeah..the price drop was $240 per 60 pills to $200 per 60 pills. For us the co-pay dropped from $24 to $6. That is one of the most expensive generic drugs I have ever seen. But I would gladly pay the higher co-pay than having it not work as good.

I've been taking the generic for over two weeks. It also was increased to three a day instead of two.

I haven't felt this good for a long time!

I regrouted my tile in my kitchen.
Started scraping off border in kitchen and dining room.

Don't know for sure, but I'm on my fifth year of treatment.

Lymeloco,

That is great to hear that the generic seems to work as good.
