Urine normally contains chemicals-- citrate, magnesium, pyrophosphate-- that
prevent the formation of crystals.
Low levels of these inhibitors can contribute to the formation of kidney stones. Of these, citrate is thought to be the most important. http://nephrologychannel.com/kidneystones/
Mg and citrates also help from the glycolysis angle...with PFK (Bb is PFK dependent).
Lethicin to help????
(Gram-positive cocci, and the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi employ exclusively the mevalonate pathway (Rohmer 1999; Kim et al. 2000; Wilding et al. 2000a, b).
Synonyms: isoprenoid pathway The mevalonate pathway is responsible for the biosynthesis of cholesterol, other sterols, and isoprenoid lipids.) http://lifeextensionvitamins.com/ospa2.html

I am currently working on understanding 20+ pages of research into Na-Vit C. Pro AND Con. Some very interesting tidbits as this all begins to fit into this big puzzle (what is this spirochete doing to us and how can we stop it?).
Bottom line, this pathogen, like most...takes a big hit on our nutrients. Some pathogens faster than others depending on how toxic they are.

The bars look tasty. Some people may be allergic to peanuts and those with yeast problems should avoid peanuts and grape juice, both ingredients of the bars. Otherwise I would give it a thumbs up for ingredients, but couldn't afford them. Hiker

If there is a serious problem delivering the elements zinc, calcium, or selenium, then consider whats called the 'lipidic' forms of these three elements that are offered on this site: http://www.Reviciceuticals.com Instead of being hooked up in a carboxylate formation,as many of the elements are in this product, they are hooked up either to the double bonds within one or more fatty acids,and/or their (esters(?), or the carbon next to a carbon that is in a double bond formation(its methylenic carbon), the double bond(s) being located at or about the midpoint of the fatty acid.
IMO, one is almost guaranteed to get these elements delivered to the desired target.

The manganese aspartate's potential for being problematic(nmda receptors, and Mn replacing Mg....) would probably be offset by other ingredients in the bar.
To be honest, I see nothing original in this formula, meaning no original bond formations to minerals as in my prev. post above.
Exception, perhaps being hexaniacinate, and Cr-nicotinate, the former not being a mineral formation of any kind, and the Cr looks bonded to carboxyl group of the niacin molecule.( in carboxylate formation).
Can't say much about Vanadylso4, except that its supposed to offset some kind of effect(s) of Cr. Cr and V are supposed to have antagonistic effects. Cr would be an anabolic element, and V a catabolic element;i.e., they promote/induce/augment, respectively, anabolic and catabolic processes at the level of the cell.

Mel...smart doc! No SUGAR (when it is by itself). Dairy...already a calcium influx problem. Wheat...I don't completely understand that connection.
Consider Epsom salt baths in the evening. A full bag (4#) with a 1# box of baking soda (Na bicarb) to help with absorption of Mg (Na does this). 25 minutes ONLY, warm, not hot water. Mg IS a "detox". We DO absorb it thru our skin.
Mg glycinate 400mg (RDA) with a hefty B complex at bedtime.
A daily multiple...pick a good one...2 times a day with bkfst and dinner.
CoQ10...personally, I'd do 200mg 3x/day. Sorry, expensive.
Chorella, follow bottle directions.
If depressed...let me know and I will suggest other NATURAL supplements.
Probiotics...(5, 2x/day) if on abx. = loading doses 1 hour with a full glass of water before meals for starters (one week), then maintenance.
Gluco Reg by Solar Ray...to prevent diabetes. Chromium + acids. At great risk with Mg low.
RDA Selenium.
Most Americans are low in Mg and chromium to begin with.
Might need digestive ENZYMES temporarily. Mg controls many enzymes. If Mg low = problems with enzymes and hormones.
Consider coconut oil and consider lecithin.
Realize this TAKES time!
This pathogen follows the glycolysis pathway (using sugar, not oxygen, for energy). Insulin ACTIVATES this pathway...avoid insulin (acidic) spikes which happen when we eat SUUGAR (BY ITSELF - it is alkaline). It also follows the cholesterol pathway...it uses the same nutrients we use to make cholesterol. To put the brakes on both pathways = Magnesium. Statin drugs can help with the cholesterol pathway, but they have many "side effects" and watch CoQ10 issues.
Far SAFER to support your OWN immune system.
It takes Mg (and Ca) to make your OWN HEALTHY antibodies to fight this pathogen. Documented!
The above is for your consideration after you have done your OWN research to determine IF you believe this is correct. I am merely giving you SUGGESTIONS.
No cheating.

Thanks for the info. I have been taking Mg for years, mostly mag citrate, long before I understood why, but will switch. I had read it was good for memory and mine was shot, this was still before I realized I had lyme.
No wheat is because I was not absorbing iron, one of my first symptoms, food or suppliments, even with folic and b-12 sublingual. My iron levels have co I was already onme up without suppliments after giving up wheat. I believe I wasn't absorbing most nutrients properly. My health has improved the most since almost eliminating wheat. I was already going easy on dairy and sugar.
I have been wanting to try the epsom salt bath and will add the bicarb. How frequently should I do them?
No depression. I take most of the suppliments you mention plus 1/2mg seratonin as a sleep aid. Sleeping only 4 hours a night is my biggest problem right now. I sleep well if I have been very active in the hours before bed. The seratonin has helped.
Do you know if exercise helps with seratonin or whatever else needs to kick in for good sleep? I usually exercise in the morning, but can change this if it will help me sleep.

I drink oj with my steak. I seem to have absorbtion working better. My mom is a dietitian, so some of this stuff I grew up on, thanks for reminding me! I used to be a "grazer", not combining food. This certainly didn't help me.
I'm more alert this morning. My doc suspected gluten intolerance. I didn't think I was having symptoms, but everything is calmer without the wheat. My antibodies were normal, but he wasn't surprised. Allergy tests came back normal too, but I'm clearly bothered by stuff at times.
I'm off to the store for Epsom salt. I don't think I'll find the GABA there but I'm often surprised what our little store has.
I mowed the lawn just before posting here last night, and then slept like a rock. Go figure.

We develop allergies and intolerances when Mg is low. Too much calcium triggers histamine also.
Son, when tested low in virtually every mineral, developed Ca intolerance.
Took getting his Mg level restored first then slowly and carefully began to add back in foods, beverages high in Ca.
We still have to be careful. Not quite there yet.
5HTP for serotonin...provides the nutrients to make serotonin...your body decides whether to use it to make more serotonin or not. If not, shuffled off to make other things (niacin). Tryptophan + about 5 nutrients -> 5 HTP -> serotonin + 2 enxymes -> melatonin. Missing any of the nutrients...see what might happen?
GABA for dopamine. Until balance restored - in time.
Yes, I know this gets extremely complex! I have to read stuff over and over and I feel sometimes my head is swimming!

We get our Mg glycinate at a nearby SuperValue Nutrition store - supplements + organic foods.
The brand we are using is from KAL.
Note: GABA (an ACID) works for some sleep issue problems, not for others...reasons UNKNOWN!
It DID (2 pills at bedtime) help my son who was very low in EVERY neurotransmitter (serotonin AND dopamine (very unusual)- neurohormones kicked in to protect. He finally got good sleep..no horrible nightmares either (common with Mg deficiency).
If longstanding lyme and the vital minerals are depleted, one will start to store, pull from storage, the "bad" minerals...mercury (Hg) and aluminum (AL). Not good. In that case...Mg malate might be a better choice since malic acid (also needed to make ATP) is known to chelate (remove...pronounced KEY LATE) aluminum.
Al and Mg both "burn" with a bright white light...the basis of fireworks.
One may be trying to "sub" for the missing one...to our detriment.
For CERTAIN...get more Mg INTO YOUR SYSTEM! Ideally, IV...but we have to do what we can do...foods, bath soaks, night-time doses (when the body "alkalinizes").
I'm trying desperately to stop the spiral downward. This pathogen depletes this very, very, very critical mineral.
