I got the rash only on the areas exposed to sunlight...but it was bad. I got taken off Doxy for the summer and my LLMD said that 80% of her patients need to come off doxy for the Summer because of the sun sentivity. So if yours is only on those areas, that could be the reason.

any little exposure to sunlight after 6 weeks of doxy will cause severe rash.
must atke anthistamine zyrtec and zinc oxide creme works good, also avenno for poison ivy is also good..must use sunscreen outside must be full blockage sunscreen.the cheapest and best is zinc oxide ointment, but it turns you white, so spf 65 or above is necessary or stay inside.

But it could also be an allergy....or a lyme rash....possible.

Hello Tnagel,

It is difficult to say...
Could be symptom flair due to the 3 week mark...or it could be an allergic reaction to the med.

I would strongly recommend that you contact your doc and let him/her know what is going on, OK? I know it is the weekend, and that may not be possible, so a second choice would be to contact a pharmacist.

If the rash is ``all over your body'' it may not be a sun thing at all.

Are you on any other meds, supplements, etc? Anything that could be reacting with the Doxy?

Please, play it safe and talk with a med professional.

Melanie
