Does anyone know if Eye twitching and shaking is a symptom of lyme or a symptom of its co-infection? I've been on ceftin for the past couple of months and have had this weird symptom, where my eye twitches and shakes up and down, even when I'm not doing any physical activities. It happens when I am calm and relaxed and not doing anything. It happens intermittently, along with my other symptoms. Does anyone with Chronic Lyme or that has been tested positive for Lyme...have this symptom?

Appreciate any input. Thanks

amk

Howdy AMK,

The symptom of eye and more specifically, EYELID twitching is very common in Lyme Disease.

Our favorite LLMD in Missouri told me that he considers it diagnostic for borreliosis when present with other symptoms.

I have had this problem when I had an active Lyme infection. It got MUCH worse when I went on Flagyl.

I believe it is caused by spirochete lysis, either by antimicrobials or NK cells, located in or near a nerve cell.

Hope this helps.

Keep on, keepin' on

Yes it is a symptom. All of a sudden it'll just occur and freak you out, then go away.
