OK folks...

How many times have we asked ``What can we possibly do about things?''

And NOW we are seeing the Action Alert posts scrolling by - calling for us to actually DO something to help.

Several very dedicated people have worked for YEARS behind the scenes trying to get these bills passed for the benefit of us all.

Let's get behind THEM now and show our support!
Your ACTION is NEEDED from everyone in every state!

NEW ACTION

PLEASE CALL ASSEMBLYMAN SHELDON SILVER NOW AND KEEP GENERATING CALLS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT AND ALL DAY TOMORROW. 518-455-3791

Tell Silver that you are a patient and YOU need him to pass A7757 so that you don't lose your doctor.

(Bill A7757 in the Assembly is the equivalent of Bill S5057a in the Senate).

For more information, see: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/035237.html

On the table:

#1- (see above change)
S 5057a, this is the bill to reform the OPMC persecution of our dedicated doctors. Please call Sen. Bruno at 518-445-3191 today and ask him to pass this bill. Time is of the essence!
For more information see: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/035176.html

#2-
HR 2877, The Lyme Alert bill is supported by ILADS and the LDA. Please contact your state Senators and Representatives with the provided form letter.
For more information see: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum3/HTML/012851.html

#3-
HB 1534, this is a Pennsylvania bill that will allow doctors to treat LD and provide insurance coverage for patients. It passed the House of Rep, and needs support from the Senate. Please contact your state Senators and ask them for support.
For more information see: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum3/HTML/012843.html

#4-
HR 2526, this is a second lyme bill supported by the LDF and others.
For more information see: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum3/HTML/012872.html

My sincere hope is that you will read over these bills, and act NOW!

Thank you!
Melanie

Great work explaining this Ms. Melanie.

Thanks for putting the NYS effort first, because we have only THREE days to get this through!

Thank you sweetie pie..

You did a great job.

Those looking at bills, also need to know what the support base is of the presenter of the bill. (ie: do you think the insurance companies would support for long term treatment ....do you think they would support any research that my point to persistant lyme?...etc. Remeber, politics are politics. If someone wanting to save money is sponsering the bill, they are not going to support the bill to make them pay more money out.)

Yes, please call Assemblyman Silver today at 518-455-3791 and ask him to pass Bill A7757 now!

Mention if you are a Lyme patient and tell him what this bill means to your life.

As many of you may be aware, there are 2 federal bills that have been recently introduced:
HR 2526 (Rep. Sue Kelly) , and HR 2877 (Rep. Chris Smith)

TWO bills are not necessarily better than one BECAUSE we are a DIVIDED Lyme community. If we send conflicting requests to our Congressional reps - they will be confused & will opt for the bill that works in their best political interest.

We NEED to put the PRESSURE on Rep. Kelly AND Rep. Smith to get into a room together & talk out what little differences they do have & to come out with bill language that we can ALL support.

Two bills are further DIVIDING an already divided Lyme community. It is ridiculous that we are at war amongst ourselves.

The enemy is not the 'other' side - the enemy is the Lyme bacteria!

Kelly & Smith must UNITE. We must UNITE.

You know that saying: United we Stand...Divided - We don't get Squat!

Call, Fax, Email Rep. Sue Kelly AND Rep. Chris Smith and URGE them to come to the same table!

Thanks,
