I noticed that I have been bruising easily recently - is this another lyme symptom or is it some co-infection? Is it dangerous?

Thank you!

It's said to be a sign for Babesia. I have this too.

Did you get checked for Babesia and Bartonella (burning skin)?

If it's 'dangerous', I think, depends on if you are bruising, for no reason, in places that would not normally bruise, like on stomach, scalp, etc.

I have always bruised very, very easily. When I first went to my doc a test was run that showed my blood didn't coagulate right.

That's when she said she thought I had LD and tested for it.

Thank you Gabrielle and DLL! I did get tested for the co-infections through Quest, and came back negative. Did check for Lyme through Igenex which came back positive.

The bruising is not even that pronounced - it is more like yellowish marks on my skin. I got a bit worried - I used to get them in the past on my legs (rarely, after hitting something). Not I got them on my lets and arm and I don't remember really hitting anything...

Good morning Newdurham,

I just pulled up a link from a year ago when I had this problem too. Perhaps there might be something here for you?

My LLMD told me it's very common with LYme, co-infection or not. No danger. Just not too pretty when your knees are blue/black all the time and you're trying to wear a skirt!

Vit K is normally produced by gut flora (the good bacteria). Vit K is important to proper clotting.

So-abx kill gut flora- less Vit k- more bruising. My LLMD said to eat more greens.

Or maybe Babesia-bruising is a symptom.

Or maybe neither? The more you know the less you know you know.

When the babesia was raging for me I would bruise my legs just by looking at them. It was ridiculous.

That has been less of a problem since treating with mepron.

Janet is right about the good bacteria making K in the gut.

Our llmd had Chris switch to a multi bacteria pro-biotic and take a K suppliment. He was also treated for Babs. Improvement in a few weeks.
