Hi all- anyone going to Dr.Z in Fairfax? Your opinions please? I will have to pay out of pocket, so every opinion highly appreciated.

Feel free to email me.

Thank you,

-sarah

Sarah,

I really like Dr. Z. I think she is very thorough and appreciate that she looks at the body as a whole. She also looks outside of the tick-borne infections.

However, she does run lots and lots of blood tests. So that could be really expensive if you have to pay for it out of pocket.

I heard she was good but I didn't like that you had to be approved or accepted to be treated by her. I was approved after i relayed all my info but she didn't treat children so I moved on to my present doc in WDC.

True Aniek the lab used to laugh when I'd bring my labwork in, they always knew it was from her as no other doc would order so many tests (before she had her own lab person).

That would be expensive.

I didn't have to go through an approval process. Perhaps she is overbooked and trying to find a way to still see the neediest cases? She has mentioned that more and more people are coming to her for Lyme.

There are very few LLMDs who will treat children. It's sad. But I think many LLMDs feel they are just not competent in pediatrics.

I really like Dr. Z, too. She is extremely thorough and leaves no stone unturned. Like Aniek said, she looks at the big picture.

She does order a lot of blood tests, but with me it has been the difference in finding hidden bugs that are big players in my recovery...

Yes, I see her too, been going for 3 months. I would REALLY like to talk to others who see her as well.
Aniek-I'd especially like to ask you some questions. Could you email me?
THX!
