Hey Korinne.
I don't think I got heartburn from rocephin, since it wasn't going into my stomache, that doesn't mean you don't though.

Maybe the zithromax is the culprit. I had some stomache problems with it but it seemed to be manageable if I took it with food.

I do know the doxycycline is giving me heartburn and burning my mouth. I'm eating stuff a few hours later to try and neutralize it.

Rocephin is VERY hard on your gallbladder. [IV, right??]

Look out! You may want to ask your dr for a script for Actigall, which would protect your gallbladder.

We don't want you to lose that thing!

Lyme too ~ your signature made me laugh so hard. Gosh, I wish I'd thought of that. How are you holding up, btw?

Sorry for the detour, Kori.

hey guys....

well some bad news...my pain wouldnt go away....my mom called the doctor...the doctor told me to take TUMS so i took 2 after i had taken pepto bizmol in the morning...

He told me if it didnt work within an hour to call him again....it didnt work. SOOOO mom and i went and got some percosets...the doctor had mentioned it could be sludging of my gallbladder..

Took a percoset and the pain went away, until i decided to eat...fun fun. So yea..its my gallbladder. Im going to the doctor tomorrow, like i was supposed to normally...he said hes going to send me to the hospital to get an ultrasound of my gallbladder...

If im sludging, which i most likely am...hes going to change my abx...i dont really want to change my abx because my system got used to this one already and i cant imagine going through another herx...possibly worse then the first one.

I would really rather them take the gallbladder out because i know im going to have gallbladder disease in the future because it runs in my famiy...mother had it and my sister recently had it so yea, im next in line. We dont need our gallbladders anyway!

I told the Physicans assistant that i wanted ACTIGALL but she wouldnt perscribe it to me because i didnt meet any of the risk factors for gallbladder disease... now when i see her tomorrow...im going to tell her she should have perscribed it to me or i wouldnt be going through this right now..im pissed.

I told her i wanted to protect my gallbladder but nooooooooo docs know everything right?! anywho, im going to relax because im doped up on percosets because this pain is HORRIBLE, and unbearable!
Hope to hear from you guys soon, i'll be checking back for more posts

Korinne

You'd think they would put everyone on Rocephin on Actigall too.

Nearly two years ago when I was having GB problems, I was told about Actigall. When I called and asked my GP's nurse about it, she had never heard of it!

Sheesh...do we have to tell these people EVERYTHING!!?

Sure hope your pain lets up soon. Don't eat ANYTHING with fat in it...no spices, no dairy, etc. Sounds like you're not eating much of anything....that's the safest!

I'm going to have GB surgery sometime next week [I hope]...will see the surgeon tomorrow.

trueblue...thanks for the compliment! I decided I needed a more permanent disclaimer and liked that one!

Too many here have been dispensing info without a disclaimer.
