Only lasted 4 days with the flagyl. it's been two days off it and I'm still herxing? Can hardly walk around my place and my vision went all shaky this am. Has anyone had this happen with flagyl?

Yep, sounds like a Flagyl herx to me. Before I was diagnosed with Lyme, my ID Duck gave me Flagyl for "presumptive giardia," and I felt as if my head might explode like an overinflated tire. I had blurry vision, the shakes, and a rash, too.
Flagyl is very effective at killing Bb, so I think it's a good idea that you take a break until your system can clear out the toxins. Epsom salt baths, saunas, and milk thistle help speed up this process.
The good news is that the herxes get less intense every time you do a new pulse.

Yes, I have a severe herx on flagyl ..... did it one week and was ok. Then the following month I was supposed to do another week ..... I only got through 3 or 4 days and called the doc crying ........... she took me off of flagyl.
I have now been doing tinidazole about 5 weeks and doing much better with it.
It took the flagyl herx about a week or so before I started feeling better.
Hang in there you will be ok, robi

Good evening Krazy,
I'm so sorry that flagyl knocked you down; it seems to happen with many. What dose did you begin with? Is this your fist time using this?
It has been recommended that the best way to approach this med is with a slow ramping up of the prescribed dosage. You may want to discuss this with your doc once you get your legs back.
Also, pulsing this med works for many as well. I pulsed at a rate of 5 days on per month for many months when I was prescribed flagyl. I think this kept me from having the severe reactions that many experience.
My best, Melanie
