I have now had 3 epideral steriod injections in my back for a Lumbar disc bulge that were done before I knew I had Lyme, and yesterday I had another Lumbar joint steriod injection.

I told my pain doctor that I was diagnosed with Lyme in May. After my last series of epiderals. Are these injections making my Lyme worse?

I would absolutely reconsider these steroid injections. I also had steroid injections for something else before we knew about my lyme and shortly after I could not walk.

Steroids are a no no. Lots of prior info, but not sure if search engine is working.

THESE WERE AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER!!!!

THEY ARE MERELY A BAND AID FOR PAIN AND CAN BE HARMFUL TO LYMIES. THEY CAUSED ME SUCH HEARTACHE I ACN'T EVEN EXPLAIN.

I'D BE VERY CAREFUL. I WOULDN'T TOUCH ANOTHER UNLESS IF IT WAS LIFE THREATENING. MADE MY LYME SO MUCH WORSE AND CAUSED OTHER HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS.

PAIN DUCKS LOVE THESE INJECTION$ BUT KNOW LITTLE ABOUT HOW THEY CAN ADVERSELY EFFECT LYMIES.

ASK YOU LLMD ABOUT THIS AS WELL.

Joe....just FYI, Dr C does prolotherapy and is a pain managemnet doc as well. He was trained by Dr Hauser. I forgot to mention that.

Thanks for all of your own experiences 1tick3victims and Limetutu (thanks for answering many of my posts). Thanks for your input too Foggy. It doesn't sound like steriod epiderals are the way to go. Sounds like I'm playing with fire.

Unfortunately, I actually have been feeling better these past 2 days since my injections.

At the time I didn't know that they were going to be bad for the Lyme or I would have never done them, but they have helped with my prolo.

Lymetutu...I have an appt. w/Dr. C. on Aug. 15, can hardly wait.
