DARYL HALL DIAGNOSED WITH LYME DISEASE, IS ON TARGET FOR FULL RECOVERY
Postponed tour dates in support of their critically acclaimed new album, OUR KIND OF SOUL, to be rescheduled
NEW YORK, July 6, 2005--Daryl Hall, half of the chart-topping soul duo Daryl Hall & John Oates, has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease is caused by the bite of infected deer ticks, and often presents with a characteristic "bull's-eye" rash, which is usually accompanied by flu-like symptoms.
The malady caused Daryl Hall & John Oates to postpone a series of dates over the past few weeks, among them scheduled shows in San Diego and Los Angeles. Diagnosed early, Hall is expected to make a full and rapid recovery and resume the tour as soon as he is able. The duo's manager and agent are currently working on re-scheduling as many postponed shows as possible. The previously scheduled performance dates for August and September will not be affected. A revised tour schedule will be announced shortly.
``We are so sorry to disappoint our fans, but we promise to make it up to them,'' said Daryl. ``This illness made it impossible for me to give my best effort to our audience, but now that it's been identified, I'm looking forward to a complete, quick recovery and to get back out there with John as soon as possible.''

Daryl Hall, of Hall & Oates fame, has had to cancel forthcoming dates with John Oates after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.
The disease is caused by the bite of infected deer ticks. While that sounds dramatic, it is quite a common in the north east states according Hall's publicist Jonathan Wolfson.
Woolfson tells Undercover News that "it is more common that people think. It is indigenous to north east states, especially the upstate New York and trio-state areas where Daryl has a house".
In a statement, Daryl said "We are so sorry to disappoint our fans, but we promise to make it up to them," said Daryl. "This illness made it impossible for me to give my best effort to our audience, but now that it's been identified, I'm looking forward to a complete, quick recovery and to get back out there with John as soon as possible."
The singer wasn't feeling well on June 22 and was about to kick off a tour in San Diego when he fell ill and couldn't make it on stage. Two nights later in Phoenix, he made it on stage but had to stop midway through the gig. They then cancelled LA and the following 5 shows. The remainder of the tour in July has now been postponed.
Doctor's have prescribed Hall antibiotics and ordered him to rest for a couple of weeks to make a full recovery.
Hall & Oates were touring their current album Our Kind of Soul which was released in October last year on their own DKE Records.

Pop music duo Daryl Hall and John Oates postponed upcoming shows because Hall was diagnosed with lyme disease, their publicist said Wednesday.
Hall, 55, is recovering at his home in upstate New York and is expected to make a full recovery, publicist Jonathan Wolfson said.
Lyme disease is caused by the bite of infected deer ticks and can cause arthritis, neurological problems and encephalitis, a potentially fatal brain inflammation. Early signs include a red "bulls-eye" rash that slowly expands and flu-like symptoms.
"We are so sorry to disappoint our fans, but we promise to make it up to them," Hall said in a statement.
Shows scheduled in July will be postponed, but shows scheduled for August and September are expected to occur as planned, Wolfson said.
The duo is best known for their 1980s hits, including: "Maneater," "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," and "Kiss on My List."
They are touring in support of their latest album, "Our Kind of Soul."
