My mother(who has chronic lyme and has had lyme for nine years so far) has been getting these white lumps under her eyes, her eyelids, and even her chest. She used to get them more frequently and now she hardly gets them. She'll get them once in a while, but not she used to get them constantly. She also gets these heart problems such as pvc's and SVT's right after she takes a shower or when she stretches. This has got to be the lyme. She's off the IV abx and she's just taking Welchol for now. When she was on abx, this didn't happen to her. I keep telling her that she should go back on the IV, but the doctor told her to stop and take a rest. For some reason when she stretches, it triggers something in the nerves that drives the heart into arrythmias. Has anybody have had these white lumps or these heart problems from stretching. I can understand the stretching...but the heart problems from taking a shower????? How can a shower cause that??? anybody have this problem? any ideas?

Perhaps the heat from the shower?? Has she been tested for babesia? It causes heart palps.

I have the white lumpy things. But hers have decreased?? That's good. The ones i have seem to be permanent.

Can you get her to take oral abx?

I also had the white lumps around my eyes. They stayed for a long time but most have gone away on their own (long before I started antibiotics).

Always wondered what they were -- guess they, too, can be added to the ever growing list of Lyme symptoms.

How big are the lumps? Because if they're tiny I think they're normal. I don't know the english word for them though. The ones I mean are small ( o <-- this small) and white / yellowish, usually around the eyes. When you open them there's some white stuff inside, the stuff that keeps your skin smooth (don't know the word for that either). I think for most people they just come and go. Is that what you mean or are these different?

Hello

I will guess that these are small pimple like things that come and go. If so I have seen that on a number of Lyme patients, including my self. Some of these people where mono pathegen Lyme (no coinfections). They seem to track the Lyme cycles to a very high degree.

The best that we could collectivley figure out was that they are due to some endocrine effect affecting hormone production. People without Lyme also seem to get them so I don;t think that it is Lyme specific. It would interesting to see how many other people have seen this effect. i have also noticed that skin tags also seem to come and go with lyme cycles but I suspect this is caused by some other mechanism.

As far as the heart stuff goes, I was in the past getting periodic AV block. It is very characteritic in that it feels like the pulse rate goes to 1/2 the normal rate. This would typically happen when I layed down.

I figure that the change in the load to the heart as a resutl of not having to pump the blood up the head casues some type of disturbance in the hearts dynamics that results in the AV block starting. Along the same lines, the dilation of blood vessels (with a shower) or change in blood flow to muscles may casue the same thing. Once I was on IV the problem slowly disappeared. They DID come back when I relapsed after stoppng IV. It is not entirely clear why but what is certain is that other symptoms did re-occur after stopping IV ( This was a quantitative measurement , not a subjective one) so sowthing casued the disease process to restart after a few weeks.

Bottom line is that your mother appears not to be alone in terms of the same types of syptoms.

I knew I had read something like that.

Which abx was your mother on?
