My daughter has a severe ear infection in the middle ear that has spread to the outer ear.

The area behind her ear is swollen and hot but she does not have a fever. I took her to the ENT doctor as a emergency and he prescribed Tobradex opth by Alcon. Tobramycin and Dexamethasone Pphthalmic Suspension.

Dircetions, 3 drops in ear 4 times a day. The insert say this medication is a antibiotic and steroid mixture.can someone with lyme use this??

I will put a call into Dr. J but do not know if I can get thru in the AM on Saturday.

Has anyone used this for severe ear infection??

She is also on amox 675 Mg three times a day.

I may give her adrop tonight just to help the swelling as she is unable to hear out of that ear.

thanks,
aunt y

These are ear drops, right?

So they probably will not have a systemic effect. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advise.

I had an outer ear infection (swimmers' ear) and it was VERY painful.

I agree, for what it's worth. I take Advair for asthma ... it has very little systemic effect...if ANY.

Do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express!
