I have been on ceftin for about three weeks and about 5 days ago started getting some lesions in my mouth.
I used peroxied and C. Silver, and some iodide. This helped on the first ones to clear now some new ones up in under my gums and I can't see them.
I don't have oral candida and I am doing everything to prevent gettin it. Using nystatin and a good aciphiosis.

Could the ceftin cause some mouth sores?

I'm entering my sixth year on ceftin with no problem. I did have a chancre appear in my mouth awhile ago, but I believe it was just more spirochetes coming out of hiding in some tooth or bone in my mouth.

Stage 3:
I can't help asking...! Were you asked to stop at all during your 6 years? I'm starting my second month on ceftin and it's great for me...but I have no idea how long I will be on it. I'd really rather STAY on it, but I wonder what my LLMD will do. I only have Lyme, no co-infections. My LLMD said that ceftin is #1 for my particular strain. Anyway, have you stayed on it constantly?

How do you know what strain you have?

Is there a certain test that gives the different strains?

It's possibly not yeast at all.
Some abx deplete folic acid and B vits, and that can show up pretty quickly if you were low to begin with. Symptoms are:
lesions in the mouth and gums - red or inflammed gums, slightly itchy gums.

It's often confused with something else.

Thanks Barb,
I stopped the ceftn for a couple of days and now they are clearing up.

I feel awful and it is hard to keep a positive thought that things will be better.
I have had this for a long time and just started treatment about 2 months ago.

I read about people feeing better sooner and I wonder will I feel better?

Thanks,
Suttles

Hello,

I have canker sores, it is called herpes
stomatitis, have had it since birth.

My Mom has it too, but none of my sisters.

My canker sores come out when my immune is low. I had them for over a year every day, and that is when I knew something was really wrong with me as the immune just
would not get better. I then was diagonsd with lyme, had it untreated for about 15 years, when I went on antibiotics, the canker sores went away in 2 months.

I then knew my immune was up.
THEN, I had the candida become very bad, and the canker sores returned.
If you are getting canker sores, then your immune is low and if you have a low immune you cannot fight lyme as well, so
try to pinpoint what it is.

Could be allergy to antibiotic, or
candida infection. Some that are allergic to peniccillin are allergic to the ceftin.

Also, I had the canker sores come out if I herxed too much, as body could not take too much back then, so maybe the herx?

if you have not had these before, the mouth sores, then talk to Dr.
