Hey everyone..

Well im not having a fun time right now as you all can obviously see... well i was off of rocefin for 1 week, and i started to get my symptoms back and that made me really upset...

Doc took me off of rocefin because of sludging or small stones in my gallbladder, then i went back to him monday (yesterday) to see what his plan would be...

It was either we changed meds or i was getting my gallbladder taken out, well the doc asked me if i was still having pain and i said no because i wasnt, so instead of going back onto 2 grams of rocefin, he wanted to try 1.5 grams since it was working so well for me...

Yea so last night i infused ofcorse...and today..BOOM gallbladder started up again AH!!!!!!!!! seems like every time i get ahead something always knocks me down man.

I don't know what to do now, im not sure on why it started to hurt again so soon..maybe i have gallbladder disease instead of only sludging...i am getting massive hickkups and its driving me insane (is this from the Gallbladder maybe?)

I need some of your opinions on what i should do...im probably going to be calling the doctor tomorrow..

Korinne

Are you taking actigall? If not, ask your doc if he will consider prescribing it. People who take this drug along with rocephin tend to have less gallbladder trouble.

If you are already taking it, and still having a problem, maybe you should try a different antibiotic.

I don't have a very good opinion of Rocephin, so my suggestion would be to change abx. You might do OK with Actigall and the Roc, however. It's worth a try!

Wanna go with me Thursday and get that thing yanked out??!

heya lymetoo,

OKAY! lets have a gallbladder party! lol

It seems as though i may have had gallbladder disease brewing before i went onto rocefin maybe...thats what it seems like to me atleast since i started to have problems only 16 days into treatment.

Rocefin seems to work well for me, it takes my dizziness away the first day i start to take it...weird right?

Well im probably going to call the doc this morning if i start to have more pain...ugh lol.

Good luck on your gallbladder surgery, i wish i was you hehe...

Hey Kori.

I think there's lots of other drugs they can push through that rubber hose.

There's a LOT of people who have gall bladder trouble when taking Rocephin. So I seriously doubt you have a bad gall bladder - especially at your tender age!

I hope the doc can get a new plan for you with a drug that works as well but fries fewer organs in the process.

Let us know, 'kay? Good luck!

Okay well...*sigh* another update..

Took a half of a percoset for pain, doctors office called back...they said i either have to go to my local emergency room or i have to call a surgeon..so yea..

They are calling me back because they have to find out the results of my blood work from monday for my pancreas...so i'll see what happens..

Im in so much freakin pain right now and so upset because every time i get ahead something seems to knock me down, this med helps me so much and i'd rather get my gallbladder taken out.

Anywho im going to rest a bit... be back later on

Hey Kori ~
I'm sorry you're in so much pain, sweety. I hope the percocet kicks in soon. Let us know what the test results say.

Try not to worry about the Rocephin, there are other IV meds you can use. Tutu mentioned Claforan, I did really well on that and no gallbladder pain. I felt fantastic a lot of the time. Which was a new experience for me.

(If there hadn't been a problem with a bad insurance company approving treatment and then pulling it midway, I might not be here now. I was doing THAT well on it. It was easier than the Rocephin for me.)

You know you probably could take the other half of the percocet if you need to. Providing the doc knows you're taking them, of course.
