bactrim is used for urinary infections only.
it is a sulfonamide and if allergic to sulfa, which is very common ,you don't want to take it.
not a good drug for lyme goes directly to urinary track,

that's not true..I hold bactrim almost totally responsible for getting me rid of both lyme and babesia! I toook it for a year with biaxin xl..and it got rid of my lyme, then i took it with malarone and mepron , and artemesia all at different times and it got rid of my babesia..
My daughter was on it from dr. jones with zithro for mycoplasma and totally got rid of that after 4 months..I call it the wonder drug for lyme..

I think its a kick *** drug for lyme..and I think it's hte most effective drug FOR ME in getting rid of my lyme...

Lisa

I have been on bactrim almost a year now.... I agree it is a good drug.. I have no clue what or how it is working but I know I had a good size herx when I first started followed by symptom let up... I ak still on it along with Malarone and Bicillan, and feel it has helped with my babesia quite a bit.
