I feel like this is some bad joke or something!

My daughther who is being treated for lyme and babs and been pretty sick (but doing better)
went to visit a friend yesterday.

SHE CAME HOME WITH A TICK BITE!!!!

sigh...this family is a TICK MAGNET!!!!

she is on zithromax and mepron but I saved the tick and think I'll send it out to see if its got any of the other crap.

we just pulled one off my son last Sat. too.
I cant wait for my guinea hens to arrive!!!

but that does not protect them from other peoples homes.

they have 3 dogs and my daughter said they were playing with the dogs so that is probably how it got her.

But why her and not the other 2 kids????

sigh, thanks for letting me vent. Can I wake up now?

Hi Patty,

I know what you mean. I'm a bug magnet myself. Some of us are just sweeter than others.

Sorry you have to go thru this!

dogs must have advantage plus to keep off the ticks.
i dusted my lawn with sevin dust and it knocked the tick population to zero, non on dogs none on people.

i know many people will disagree with the sevin dust but it is the least invasive that works.Pyrythrins also work but these are dangerous to everybody.also dursban is great but deadly to everything.
Long pants a must prefer sweatpants or thinner that have a band around the leg.
high socks, and a hat, they fall from the trees onto the head.
check kids every hour for ticks and prior to entering house, don't want any in house to sit in carpet and multiply.
can also sevin dust carpet and leave for couple hours for fleas and ticks in house.

Pattiecake,

Did you talk to Dr. Jones about this? While I was with him last week I asked about the kids being reinfected while we were here. He said that we needed to be careful incase we were infected with a lyme strain that is resistant to the antibiotics we are on. Not to make you worry!!!!! Just wanted to pass this on.

best regards and blessings,

Wow, I am really sorry, pattie, I think I would totally freak out and keep everyone in the house have no

pets that go outside and not allow kids to play!! Unlikely but, since this nightmare

has started I sure feel like it. Funny thing is, I have never seen a tick here at

all. Dogs and cats have never had them except the time 14 years ago that my

daughter had one on her when visiting my Mom. Her dog was covered with them also.

Only place we can figure they came from was wood she bought for her wood stove. We have

no fleas either. I know the ticks are here, I just have never run onto any. And I thought earwhigs were scary!!!
