You can get better! I would not have thought so this time last year, but it's true!

I feel great again, have traveled abroad, can work hard physically, my aches, chills and sick days are a fading memory. So is feeling toxic from all of the Doxy I was taking. I could actually taste it in my saliva at all times. Yuck. I got so that I could not face plain water as it reminded my body of the Doxy pills and I would involuntarily dry retch. For the longest time I had to add a bit of fruit juice to any water I drank to tolerate it.

Last year someone in this forum asked if anyone ever gets better, and I was concerned when no one could give her an answer. It scared me. I began to think that I would always feel sick which was discouraging. But, I kept up with the horrid medicine, and decided after reading someone's suggestion about it that I needed to do more physically, to get some excersise, so I did. It was hard, but, I think it was the key to my getting better.

Maybe I will have a relapse, or get Lyme again, but for now I am so grateful to feel well. I feel like dancing up my driveway to our barn each evening, I'm so glad to be my old self again. It's made a huge difference to my family as well. They were all so worried.

I just wanted to give some encouragement to those going through what I did last year. It was a relaspe from my original infection the spring before, which I now know was not treated quickly or aggressively enough. You will get better!

I'm so happy for you! Yes, it does make a difference if you read other success stories.

I have also been doing great! Don't have a barn, but I can dance up my driveway too!

You are right about keeping active...it's a push, but once your up and going, you do start to feel better!

Again, I'm very happy for you,and try not to think negative about relapsing.
Just enjoy your life, and don't hurt yourself dancing up your driveway!

Thanks so much for the hopeful post.

BTW, what kind of exercise did you start doing at that point? Thanks.

I was going to physical therapy for 2 herniated disc from a stupid accident at work but things got much worse!

I found out later that I had torn my rotator cuff also.

I ended up having to take early retirement as not to loose my health insurance.

I do believe the stress of not being able to work, made the lyme much worse. I do believe the lyme made neck and shoulders worse. Only because I don't have as much of a problem now.
The pain was so bad from the kind of p.t. that I was getting...I would walk around my couch for a half hour. It took my mind off the pain.

One doc wanted to operate, butI decided to get a second opinion, and he said strength exercises and seeing a p.t. that he himself went to would help.
I'm feeling so good...I haven't made the appt.

I do stretches now, and haven't gotten into any other type of exercise because I'm catching up on my yard and house that got neglected!
When I get things caught up around here...I would like to get into some exercise group.

A few years ago, friends asked if I wanted to do yoga, but my balance wasn't up to par.

What are you doing for exercise?
