Hi,

Is anyone taking Zithromax or Ketec with any SSRI, Zoloft, Lexapro, Effexor, Paxil, Prozac??

I was wondering what dosage of the SSRI you are on and for how long and if you have had any adverse reaction with the Zithromax or Ketetc, possibly mania. sweating, chills, insomia?

I know Pfizer has not done research on the pathways of the liver that Zithromax uses for metabolism and many sites say there are no interactions between Zithrmax and SSRI's.

I have read others that say beware of any macrolide that uses the P 450 system regardless of the pathways......... so I am curious of others that are taking SSRI's with Zithromax........what has your experience been?

I know there are documented interactions between Biaxin and Lexapro and Erthryomycin and Lexapro via 3A pathway competition which causes an increase in the serum level of the SSRI.

Anyone taking Zithromax or Ketec successfully with their SSRI? Thanks for any info.

aunty

Taken Zithro for about 1 year now with Prozac. 80mg Prozac (since I take generic. Have to take more than if I were taking name brand.) No problems that I can recall.
