Hello everyone...

Well i wanted to update on myself LOL....The infection in my piccline is almost gone thank god, i had to come off of cipro though because of the tingiling sensations im getting in my face, neck and arms but the doc said its okay, the infection is basically gone.

Hm..im going back onto rocefin while im waiting for Gallbladder surgery. Hes putting me onto 1.5 grams again but we're mixing it with a whole crap load of saleen..to hopefully prevent the sludging.

im doing okay though, just wanted to update you all since i was pretty close to the end of my rope last week.... i'd like to thank all of you for helping me and encouraging me through that rough time..love you guys

Korinne

Good news! One question: Why won't your dr consider giving you Actigall as a preventative? I personally wouldn't risk taking Rocephin again without it....but that's just lil ole me!

hey..well the doc said actigall doesn't work against rocefin from sludging in the gallbladder, and i do think hes right. Actigall is for stones that are already formed.. and what i have going on is a sludge from the med.

I'll do anything i can to try to feel better right now ya know? i'll see how it goes, if i sludge again, i'll be taken off. Its just another try in a different way, so maybe it will work hopefully.

and OOPS i didnt notice i put this in the medical questions forum..sorry. I meant to put it in the general support. My bad!

Kori ~ I'm glad to hear the infection is under control and you're doing a little better. Yay!

I don't see what's wrong with this being in medical, there's medical stuff in here.

Good luck with the rocephin, I hope it's ok that way, keep a close eye on it. If you have to stop, you'll stop. Do you have a time frame for the surgery? Or are they still deciding if it's necessary?

Anyway, hang in there, kiddo!

Korinne,

Actigall also works on sludge. I Had SLUDGE not stones with Rocephin and a lot of URQ pain. I took actigall religiously for 6 months and got rid of the sludge. The guy that did my monthly ultrasound even hugged me he was so happy for me and really surprised that it worked! I had to FIGHT to keep my Gallbladder. I think it is a good organ to keep around if you can. It makes it harder to process IV Rocephin without it, is what I have heard and read. Annie that posts here might know more about this???

Are you taking the gallbladder out before symptoms of stones have happened? Sorry I havent been reading much lately, missed your story last week.
