I need to know if there is anything I can do to ease the pain in my head/ ears/ teeth/ nose.

I have been in a lot of pain all week. It would come and go but since yesterday it has gotten so bad that just my top lip touching the front of my teeth is too much pressure.

I can not eat either, and I have to take my meds soon.

I have been crying all morning, and I can not even keep a train of thought long enough to post this without stopping three times.
My dr. is on vacation untill Monday and I can not go untill then.

and I can not try to lay down because I am caring for my toddler and nine year old, My husband is at work and I am feeling pretty helpless right now.

I don't know what to do
Kimmi

Hi Kimmi,

I am so sorry you are suffering like this right now and don't know if I have any suggestions.

I have explained to my daughter (6.5yr) that I'm really sick and have spent herx cycles sleeping upright on the couch (nausea) while she watched tv. Can you share this with your older child? and ask him for a little help while dad's at work?

YES, the pain is tremendous and you cannot draw your attention to anything else for more than brief moments.

It is the weekend and can you find someone to play with your toddler? from a "mommy & me" group or a relative?

I will check back in with you shortly.

Are you currently on abx? Biaxin?

Lisa

Hi Kimmi,

I am sorry you are in so much pain. It is hard dealing with it sometimes.

I know that when it gets that way for me, asprin always helps. It thins the blood so it can go through the brain easier. Sorry I am not as technical as most on here. (I have a headache this morning also)

I do take asprin with codeine in it. It does help me with depression and my thoughts also for some reason, maybe blood flow again, I don't know how or why.

Also try some detox teas(green tea) and milk thistle.

Hope you feel better soon,
Lisi

Lymester,

I have explained to my daughter about my being sick, and I sat down yesterday and asked for for a little help because I was up all night in pain and was in rare form yesterday. She doesn't understand.
I was initially given doxy and ceftin by my last dr. I have recently run out of the doxy but I am still taking the ceftin until my new doc starts my I.V. treatment.
Is this paing going to get worse?
I am asking because my Grandmother will be her on Wednesday and I'll be taking care of her in addition to everything else. I don't want her to see me like this or she'll think that she is a burden on me and want to go into a home.

Lisi,
I have some tylenol w/ codine that I had saved from Feb. when I had a sinus infection. I have been taking them the past two days and I can manage unless I eat.
It had affected my teeth then too. but not as extreme as now. I had been gargling w/ salt water and as soon as I spit it out the pain returns almost instantly.
So I have frequently held in a mouthful and when I need to speak to my kids I spit it out, talk, and do it all over again.
If I could just hang in there until my son takes a nap I'll try to take a bath, this seemed to help yesterday to relax me.

Thank you for your help,
Kimmi

Caffeine can sometimes help with head pain. It opens the capillaries, allows the blood to flow.

Any chance your sinuses are congested? Both Lyme and yeast can cause sinus infections. Sinus infections put pressure causing pain everywhere you mentioned. If that's the case, then a decongestant might help. Something like Sudafed, or a sinus headache medication.

I hope this helps. When you can, you should also talk to your doctor. You have a right to pain treatment, and should be getting it.

Aniek,

Thank you for your suggestions.
I will be on the phone as soon as their office opens on Monday.

I took a tylenol w/ codine and it has taken the edge off a little, but I only have two left now. I'll take another at bed time so it does not keep me up all night again. Then I'll have one left until I can talk to him.

I don't think my sinuses are the cause this time, that pain usually starts at my sinuses and aggravated all of the areas I mentioned.
This starts in the teeth, and aggravates everything else.
All I can really do I guess is hold on and ride it out.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice, it was and is always greatly appreciated.

Are you possibly gritting your teeth a lot? I do this a lot since I got sick, and it causes a lot of the same symptoms you're talking about. Just a thought . . .

Kimmi, you'll need to talk to your doc, but my son had to take amytriptiline, and ambien to fall asleep.

He used fentanyl patches [50mg], and tramadol for pain, but it barely made a dent. Some swear by mangosteen juice, or podi patches. Hot baths w/epsom salts help many.

If you're doc is willing try different things until you hit on something that works. Eventually, the abx will kill the bugs that cause you pain, but in the meantime.................

Hi,

Checking back in... I asked about the biaxin because it really does sound like sinus and yeast pain. Sometimes with a sinus pain it's almost either so dry or so clogged my teeth, jaw, temples, hearing and base of skull are tender to touch and sound.

Get your fluids in, just as you would in any illness. Try to rest. I use my kid's saline spray and take tylenol extra-strength.

If possible, contact the answering service at your doctor's office and request that he return your call. Ask him for medication that you can get from the pharmacy.

Has this pain been occurring for about 24hrs? If this is a combo herx/yeast I think you've got another 48 hrs left, but the severity should lessen.

I would contact the doc. Is he an LLMD? Someone must be on call during his vacation.

Hot shower, cat nap if able.

Kimi,
Sorry to hear that you are suffering, i am not sure if you are already following the diet..
you should not eat any sugar, corn, bread, yeast products, may be you can try applying "TIGER BALM" to your forehead and neack, i am sure you will get relaxation and try not to drink lot of cafine, but you can have a strong coffee, drink warm water if possible.
if you have any music for healing, better switch and close your eyes.
if you need any help.. please email me
Hope you will feel better soon.

I don't know what's what, since I'm not you and I'm not your dr....but SOMETIMES you have to back off the meds.

Even if you stopped the meds for one day, you may feel immeasurably better and then be able to continue. You don't want to end up in the hospital or be so ill that you can't care for your kids, which I know is a big concern of yours.

Hang in there and consider what i've said. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for all of your support, it has helped a great deal today.
My husband came home shortly after my last post, and I tried to lay down but couln't sleep.
I decided to take a bath w/ 1/2 cup of baking soda. I started to get vertigo, tunnel vision, and big yellow floaters (new one for me) shortly after I got out of the tub, I sat on the couch in a towel and was really out of it for a while.
I had to ask my husband to get me clothes because I had no energy.
about an hour later I noticed that the left side of my neck was swollen along with my top lip. I also had no feeling on my left side from my temple to my neck.
The feeling is back now, but my neck is still swollen and tender.
I did the yeast test yesterday (spit in cold water) and I think I have yeast.
I also had trouble breathing twice. Talking to my mom and then talking to my sister. I would say a few words, then gasp for air. This lasts for about five minutes and it's gone. My throat is sore also and I have trouble swallowing.
I'm going to make a food list of things I may be able to eat ( or in this case drink). I have to get something in me I'm kind of running on empty and just thinking of chewing anything right now makes my skin crawl.
I don't grind my teeth though. ( that I'm aware of) I can't close my mouth all of the way when I talk because if my bottoms touch the top it feels like someone is taking a hammer to my front teeth.
I just want to have them all taken out.
I am not on the yeast diet, because I'm under weight and my doc said I need to eat anything I can get my hands on. However, right now I think I need to start now.
I've been having this all week, all though
Today it hasn't let up, not once.
I think I'll put the humidifyer in my bedroom tonight, in the event my sinuses are in fact dried out.
trust me, I'll be trying everything.
If I have another breathing episode I may have to go to the hospital.
I think I'm gonna skip the ceftin tonight.

Thank you again for all of your support.
-Kimmi

Kimmi,

Listen to your body. If the breathing is bad, go to the hospital. There are certain things you don't take lightly.

Have you been tested for babesia? Babesia can cause air hunger, that causes you to gag for air.

I hope you start feeling better.

Kimmi,

I'm so sorry you are in so much pain.

When I feel that way I take Sudafed. I like the generic non-drying Sudafed. I also take Tramadol/Tylenol.

Heat usually helps too. I use a rice pack that you heat in the microwave.

Could you bribe your daughter to help out? That has worked for me.

Hi everyone,
I went to the ER this morning. My top lip continued to swell last night. This morning it was even worse. It pains me to talk, as the swelling spread across to my left cheek bone.

The doc gave me pennicillan and vicoden. and I have to have teeth taken out. I'm just wondering, I'm sure it's not just the teeth that are the problem, but for him it was the obvious problem.
I told him all of the trouble I was having breathing, my heart beat, dizziness. He still insisted it was from the teeth that needed to be extracted... I hope he's right.

I had my husband take pics of my face. It doesn't look real. I made jokes with him in the car on the way to the hospital. I told him I was ready for my audition for planet of the apes 2 and I made a few monkey noises.
I am going to lay in bed now, try to fall to sleep.
Thank you all for being here, instead of somewhere else. I am very greatful for you all.

K-Lyme- Thank you so much for your e-mail,
When I woke up from the couch in the middle of the night, I was going to try to sleep in my bed again, and I checked my mail. I can't begin to tell you how great of a comfort it was to me. Thank you

-Kimmi
