I just picked up my prescription for Minocycline.

What if any side effects should I expect.

TIA for your responses

What dose are you taking?

I have been on Mino for about 21/2 months and the only side effect I have had was a little dizziness when I first started. So far that is it for me.

My dosage is 100mg twice a day.

Do you find that the Minocycline is helping you?

Please let me know.

That is what I am taking too. I have to tell you that I think that I herxed on it for about 6 weeks (Sorry). And then I did start to feel better. My MD switched me to doxy for a short period and I feel that did nothing for me.

I have only been back on the mino for a couple of days now and today I actually feel better.I do think I have other issues going on with my body. I am actually going to have some tests done to make sure I am not deficient in vitamins, minerals, etc.

Best of luck to you!
Lynette

I am not worried about herxing..if I do, that might be a good sign that it lyme and not MS which is in control of my body.

I have survived almost 8 years of taking Avonex 2x week with little or no side effects.

I was told that Minocycline is less intense that Avonex.

I am taking 300 mg./day (100 in am and 200 in pm). The first 2 weeks I was very dizzy and nauseaous. I've had nausea for quite a long time anyway but it is a little worse on meds.

I have herxed quite a bit since starting but this is the good news, right? And the herxing has not been as bad as my Lyme symptoms were so I can't complain.

It's supposed to be a very good antibiotic with good tissue penetration, so it should help you.

It doesn't have the sun sensitivity factor of Doxy even though it does have a warning on the label. (I've been in the sun with no problems but I try not to stay out for long periods.)

I just finished day 1 of being on Minocycline.

Only side effects are less balance and more MS pain in my legs.

Should I be expecting greater side effects in the future?

Please let me know.

When I sarted Mino I felt like I had a freight t rain running thruh my head for about 3 or 4 weeks. Then i calmed down and I saw a ot of improvement in brain fog.

I am still on the mno and once again experiencing a down turn but I don't think its lyme .... think it is something else

WHo knows!

Anyway....Mino is a good one!
