I dink Ypgi tea too, why is skullcap a no no?

TinCup had a good homemede detox tea recipe when I was looking a few years ago.... I'm not sure if the search feature is working, perhaps you could post a request for it and someone might have it saved and could post it for you.

good luck, best wishes for your daughter.

relaxant. Good for skin diseases, liver disorders, and kidney problems.

2 Pau d'arco- contains a natural antibacterial agent. It cleanses the blood and is good for candidasis
and all types of infection.

Recipe 2

LOTS of filtered water for flushing out the toxins and frequent gentle streching to pump the toxins out of tissue is a good first step.

The tea and epson salt baths work very well too.

Cindy, my daughter is not a doctor but she has told me that skullcap is on the list of 12 herbs/supplements that the FDA says should be banned. It causes liver damage supposedly.

P:

I'm in bad shape right now too. I re-started Mepron about a month ago and am just coming into the herx from Hades. I have been sick for 3 days solid. I am drinking lots of electrolyte water, taking Epsom Salts baths and sleeping a ton. I am just riding it out. I work for about an hour and then have to lie down. I get up and do it again 30 minutes later. Not much else one can do. It is part of the healing process.

It stinks!!!!

If possible she may ask her doc about skipping a day or two of meds.

JMO: Not sure you want to do something as intense as Ultimate Cleanse while on meds. A product like this will clear you out of everything, including abx. I would go a little gentler and ride out the symptoms, as best you can. There is no way around it. Feeling #$%^y is part of the deal, unfortunately. Be kind to yourself and those around you. That's the best advice I can offer.

So stinks,
my last mepron/artesminin/clindy herx almost killed me; lasted almost one month during which I detoxed and detoxed and detoxed

get ph strips and test ph in urine, it tells alot about toxins/acidity. what has worked for me is to go towards a very alkaline diet to counteract the acid of the toxins; a lot of green vegetables are key. I buy organic greens and cook them; not only eat the greens, but drink the liquid from the greens (I like greens, I am from the south)I also buy barley grass or other green drinks from heatlh food store and green supplements

study ways to alkaline your body, good for detox and makes the cells a less comfortable place for the ketes

ph levels, very interesting

Sunday I started biaxin & plaquenil and couldnt get out of bed until today.

Yesterday I tried the lemon/olive oil detox and today I am able to get up and do some light things.

I felt nothing after taking the liquid mid day but this morning I knew I could get up and move. It might just be a coincidence but just thought Id pass it along

juice of 1 lemon
1tbl virgin olive oil
1 cup filtered water

I like lemon water and this was no trouble getting it down but it was a little strong.

Toxic Individual Herbs

Dr. Diehl writes: ``Herbal medicine is generally safe - safer than western pharmaceuticals. There are certain plants that are highly toxic. The most common examples are those that contain pyrolizidine alkaloids.'' Those that contain alkaloids or that reportedly have triggered toxic reactions include the following.

Chaparral (creosote bush, greasewood)
Comfrey (if taken internally)
Crotalaria (Ye Bai He)
Eupatorium
Germander (This toxic herb is often substituted for skullcap, and skullcap is not toxic in well-formulated herbal remedies. However, always insist that any ingredient identified as skullcap be the genuine article and not germander.)
Groundsel (senecio longilobus)
Heliotropium
Mentha pulegium
Mistletoe
Pennyroyal (squawmint) oil or Hedeoma pulegoides
Sassafras
Senicio species

Special Cases

Licorice: a mainstay of Chinese formulas, licorice is used in very small quantities to balance herbal action and often appears as glycyrrhizin (licorice root). However, licorice produces well-documented side effects such as hyperaldosteronism (an increase in levels of the adrenal hormone aldosterone, triggering imbalance of electrolytes) when taken in doses of more than 50 grams a day or for six weeks or longer. However, no side effects have been seen in smaller doses over thirty days or in higher doses for a very short period of time.

Skullcap: also called scutelleria or scute, this herb is used in many formulas to good effect. However, it appears that the toxic substance germander often is substituted for skullcap in formulas without being properly identified. As a result skullcap looks like the offending substance. Dr. Diehl found several mentions of skullcap toxicity in the literature, but those mentions may in fact refer to unidentified substitutions of germander. Further research is needed to clarify this. Until then, whenever skullcap appears in a formula, make sure that it, not germander, is in fact being used. If you cannot be sure, do not take the formula or herb.

Dr. Diehl has found one mention of toxicity in the literature for the following herbs. Further documentation of toxicity is needed.

Calliepsis laureola
Atractylis gunnifera
margosa oil
valerian (Valerian officinalis)
