Does anyone know if minocycline can cut it for lyme, ehrlichia and bartonella. Am on 300 mg. mino after being off for antibiotics for 5 weeks - needed a break after 6 mos . straight rocephin. My doc says it works on all 3. How has anyone felt on mino and at what dose?

Anyone success with mino?
Thanks and be well,
Cigi

Gee, cigi....our lives seem to be on a parallel! I'm taking mino again. I don't know if it's good for all three....could be. But I know it's good for Lyme.

I've taken it before. When I first took it, I had alot of head pressure and dizziness.

This time, I have a moderate amt of head pressure, some dizziness [or faint feelings] and nausea. However, I don't know how much of this is from my recent infection and how much from the mino.

I'm taking 200mg now.....may try to go to 300mg, but I wasn't successful at that the first time around.

How are you doing these days??

Hi tutu. How are you? Hopefully your gall bladder surgery is just a memory (one I could live without).

The last 3 days were for the first time in 3 mos, mentally I was clearer than I've been, but I'm on anafranil for the ocd and xanax. I tested 6 + in the igm lyme, igg pos for bart and ehrlichia. Just got up and almost passed out - just got to 300 mg today of mino. Have appt tomorrow am with my psych. Hopefully the anafranil is working, just started the mino on Monday 100 on Mon, 200 on tue and 300 on Wednesday. Have to take my son tomorrow to opthamologist to see if he's gotten more brown spots on the cornea. He's been seeing lightning flashes and has heel spurs, I'm sure Dr. J. is going to put him back on treatment. He's been off for 3 mos. this disease is about when it comes back, not that it ever goes what to do.

I hope you're on the right track and that we are with the mino. Going to another llmd beginning of Sept. that maybe can work with my doc. Between psychiatrist, nephrologist,
llmd, psychologist, neurologist, maybe with heads together could figure something out - but this year with the sodium being low, my mind has been in places I pray doesn't get there again. I just thank God when I have a good day and hope it lasts.

Be well tutu and I hope your surgery has been long gone.

Take care - good health - God bless,
Cigi

I took mino 200mg per day for lyme and ehrlichiosis. Don't know if it works for bartonella. I took it for 6 weeks. It was the only antibiotics I felt helped by the way. Hiker
