Hi everyone
I spoke to my MD the other day about my trouble swallowing and GI problems among other things possibly being cranial nerve damage from the Lyme. He said he isn't ruling it out but being he's not an LLMD he doesn't know if it is that what to do about it. So I explained to him about the ILADS guidelines for treatment and he told me to get him a copy of them and he will see where we can start as far as treatment. So my questions are, What are the differences between ILADS and Dr B's guidelines? Is one better than the other? How do I get a copy of ILADS guidelines? Thanks so much for any help.

I suspected Lyme right away with a tick bite and EM history five years ago and suggested such to my PCP several times....after three months of headaches

lots of labs, negative titers and western blot, inconclusive abnormal MRI, slurred speech, radiating brain sensations, crickety stif neck and a bunch of other

symptoms and being told by a nureologist that there is nothing wrong with me nuerologically, my PCP went to www.guideline.gov and looked up lyme disease and read management guidelines very similar to

and based on the ILADs guidelines - he called it a good gov't backed site. All of a sudden he understood the importance of clinical diagnosis and appropriate treatment and asked whether his treatment five years ago was insufficient.

I was about to change pcp's when he put me on abx, now I won't dare. He even agreed to try other combination therapies if we need to. I am hoping a somewhat local LLMD will work with my pcp to get me through this.

good luck to you
