$1200 per week for the drug, a couple of hundred for a month's supply of equipment. You can save money by mixing the abx solution and injecting it into your picc line, but it's dangerous and easy to do the wrong way.
Also, what happened with your other treatments? According to the archives, you've taken some strong stuff for both Lyme and the co-infections.

Joe, Generic Ceftriaxone (Rocephin) costs around 10 euro a gram at European online pharmacies. Injecting it IM with Lidocaine would cost a lot less, probably not more than 30-40 per month in supplies. Others here have done this. It's not very uncomfortable and less of a barrier to normal activities. Also, the risk of serious errors and site infections is probably reduced. You might even be able to buy it here through your pharmacy plan or through your major medical at 80% re-imbursement. David

$2800 - 3600/week if done through an ambulatory infusion center or MD's office. On your own, you could get the Rocephin for about $240 a 2G bag, premixed. Then, you have to get the hypos, saline, Heparin, bandages, PICC line, etc. It adds up quickly.

Our insurance covered 4 wks of rocephin. After that, we were on our own.
We found a homehealth agency that would deliver the mixed 2g bags of rocephin for $70 each. I had to call quite a few agencies... Most of them were concerned about liability.
We got hepron and saline at the pharmacy. We got a prescription for it form the ID. Our insurance paid our usual benefit on that which was strange, but fortunate. Also a nurse gave us some leftover supplies for free. We also bummed some from an urgent care center.
Good Luck and look into taking Actigall with the rocefin so you don't have gallbladder problems!

Joe,
I just started Rocephin two days ago. I'm doing the infusions myself after today. A local pharmacy quoted me a price of $75.00 per 2Gm bag of Rocephin.
If you like, e-mail me as I'm gathering a list of necessary supplies etc..

You can get the supplies relatively cheap from Infuserve America. They have a program for getting Rocephin for $75 per 2grams (I believe that's unmixed) and they give Lyme patients a good deal on other supplies, too. That's where I get my liter bags of saline and IV vitamins from.
Roche also has a program through Needy Meds where you can get free Rocephin if you don't have prescription coverage to cover the Rocephin (which I believe can mean that they just deny coverage) and meet the financial guidelines. You would also need a place to get all the other supplies and the Rocephin from Roche is also unmixed.
