Is the vein the picc line was in? I would nix the picc line if it was. Tell her she is in my prayers. I would definitely put in a phone call to Dr. C. in Missouri, too.

Hang in there. Your wife is a wonderful strong woman and she and you and your son will get through all of this!

I met you at the dentist's office in St. Louis this summer by the way. Hiker(aka: Ann)

Dear husband of BB..I am so sorry..Your family and your wife are in my prayers..We just talked about the problem she had with the picc..With the stress of everything else this was not needed..

You are a good man to be there for her..So many lyme husbands are not nearly as compassionate or available..Someday you will be rewarded for your dedication..

She told me what had happened..I was worried and told her that no one should have pushed it in!!!

Blood clots are very scary..My daughter had one and with the blood thinners, all is well..But it is nothing to take lightly.

Love, hugs and prayers, your way..lymemomtooo

I have no idea what you should do, but wanted to wish her well anyway and for a speedy recovery.

Very sorry to hear this! I do hope they will check her for hypercoagulation, etc ... or has she already been tested for that by Dr C??

Tell her we're praying for her and hope she gets out of that duck motel VERY SOON!

Kent, thanks for posting for BB.

I have no experience in this at all. My thoughts & prayers are going to your entire family thru this ordeal.

May God get BB back to "normal" soon.

Thank you to everyone for replying to my hubby's post. I do have a clot in my subclavian artery and it was suspected by the visiting nurse (bless HER heart for being so wise). She told me to go to the ER ASAP. The ER found the clot via ultrasound.

I was just released from the duck motel and I'm doing okay, just very tired and worn down. I'll post more later after I've rested and collected my remaining brain cells.

Hugs to all!

BB

SCARY STUFF, Biting! I'd be tempted to yank the cord on that baby! Glad you're OK now.... Very unnerving to go through. So relieved for you.

I have factor V too. I have to take warfarin everyday for the rest of my life. They found it on a genetic clotting test.

Kathy

I will be getting tested for genetic
clotting abnormalities. They will for antiphospholipid antibody, Factor V Liden, prothrombin 20210 mutation, activated protein c resistance, protein c & s deficiency, lupus, anticardiolipin, homocysteine, and a bunch of other stuff related to clotting.
