It is possible to get lyme from anything other then a tick?

I think this article mentions many avenues of infection. Do realize that the CDC probably wouldn't agree with this assessment. [but who cares??]

I think all of the above mentioned exposures are possible,

as well as congenital transmission.

I also believe there is virtually no way to aviod exposure completely (tho we should be careful), and most of us were exposed layers at a time before falling ill..

In otherwords: Bb is in most people's blood streams..

one get's sick when either too many direct exposures to infection have occured, or there is an insult to or degredation of the immune system..
or, one bite too many puts you over the edge.

For my son, that last straw before debilitating illness was a mosquitoe bite..
for me was a tick bite..
but I do not believe those bites were the origionation of the illness cascade.
