Question: I have visible muscle twitching on my right bicep, it is just jumping so everyone can see it. Of course it is scary as this is a primary symptom of ALS, but I do know I have lyme. I was treated for four months, becamse symptom free so stopped treatment and a few years later my muscle twitching is back.
Of course, my head is being played with, is this for sure lyme? I'll go on treatment again soon, just trying to figure out how to go about it.
Sadly, nobody ever seems "cured" and that is disappointing, and so I want to know how to get rid of these symptoms and best go in to "remission".
Does anyone have an idea of what they think is the BEST protocol to induce remission at least?

these muscle twitches are called "fasciculations" and are likely the result of a magnesium and/or calcium deficient state. You might want to try a series of magnesium sulfate IM injections complemented by calcium supplementation and a vitamin D supplement. And have your B12 levels checked.

many of us get this. For me, it's one of my first clues that I'm herxing or relapsing. I take oral magnesium. It helps to take calcium too. I've learned to ignore it, pretty much. If it gets really annoying I'll take a muscle relaxer and a warm bath.

From this what i understand, muscles twitches are caused by 1,25-dihydroxywitamin-D released from infected cells which acts directly on muscles. http://autoimmunityresearch.org/hormones.pdf That`s why muscle twotches are there were infected cell.
